They should have had buses ready and available way back when it was a much shorter ride home. If they had to walk past bus after bus just waiting to drive them home, a fair number would have hopped on board.

Let them go over there and open it up themselves.

After 9-11, the borders were closed. People who took a day trip to TJ found themselves trapped in México for a week or so. Even on a good day, expect at least a 2-hour wait at San Ysidro. Just closing a few more lanes will cause the wait to be a lot longer. This is really going to mess with the economies of the border cities. Might get the Mexican government’s attention.

No, the press will blame Trump for not letting them into the USA.

“This is really going to mess with the economies of the border cities.”

That’s not a critical path issue today!

Today...Thursday Thanksgiving Day....12:56 A group of about 100 migrants from the caravan migrante has marched near to the entrance to the pedestrian crossing in Tijuana, 'demanding' solution from US govt. They are tired of waiting.

the residual concern i have is what about security for american citizens crossing back into the us and becoming trapped by violent rioting caravan mobs while waiting in the queue...

My daughter had to cross the border at San Luis Rio Colorado yesterday. She said it took over three hours to get back across. It was three hours of terror with crowds swarming around her car, people yelling, pushing, etc. Thank God nothing happened to her, and she got back ok.

Actually it should have been done under Ronnie Reagan. But who is counting the number of Presidents who have pushed the issue down the road. There were many studies in the late 60’s and 70’s explaining the problems with population growth in Mexico and south. Those studies predicted all of this.
