In the USA you have the right to offend anyone ( freedom of speech ), which means he has the right to be offended.

If you’re worried about diversity and other PC facts,
Orcs are just imaginary, you really should relax!
In a high fantasy such as LOTR the fight against ultimate evil usually requires a truly evil villain, but in most fiction, the humanization of the antagonist serves to give him depth, bring him to life, just as the protagonist's "wound" serves to make him more believable. A good sign the author has done this well can be seen in a review for the crime novel, Collateral Crimes: "I loved the characters - even the bad guys!"
After watching the movies, I realized Orks just wanted a good dental plan at affordable cost. Dictatorial men refused to raise taxes on the wealthy, so the Orks protested in the only way left open to them in the orkaphobic society of “Middle Earth”.
The wars of Middle Earth were rooted in bad teeth. Figures the Brit journalist writing about it wouldn’t figure it out. The whole thing could have been solved, as all thing can be, by raising taxes on the rich. Dental care for ALL!
But what about Zur?
One of the reasons I eventually lost interest in the LOTR trilogy etc. In the end, it’s too archetypal, and the characters by and large one-dimensional and dull.
But then again, that was probably JRR’s goal, to create an archetype, legendary, epic tale.
Because in the end, I just can’t see Gandalf tossing a witty offhand taunt to the Balrog falling into the chasm. Especially considering what happened shortly thereafter.
...you can’t have an evil villain.

There are automated checklists that screenplays are put through. You MUST have trans, gay, various ethnicities who are important characters and whose *diversity* is incidental to their behavior or the performance of their roles within the story. SJWs offer diversity editing so that novels adhere to political correctness du jour.
Add that to the reality that FB or Twatter or Instagram can and will change algorithms on the fly and delete an author’s account for whatever reason they choose even after buying thousands in ads and:
Just like that, indie publishing has been ruined by the usual suspects.
To racists; everything is seen through the prism of racism.
Petty thoughts fill their day.
And not just indie publishing. If TOR is doing this, then it means the trads are buckling, as well.
