I read an interview of a woman who had lived under the Nazis and the Soviets. She said she preferred living under the Nazis because they told you what to do and if you did it they left you alone. But the Soviets wanted you to think a particular way. If they thought you didn’t they made your life a living hell.

Twitter and Facebook are the new Soviets.

They’re afraid of people ridiculing the NPC cult. Sucks to be them.

That’s how smart kings and other Banana republic style type despots stay in power.

Excellent, excellent post! Congratulations.

Sad how many people here use "fascist" as an adjective meaning "bad".

The Soviet style Communist Totalitarian mindset definitely has an Orwellian twist to it.

In Orwell’s “1984” it was crucial that you mentally embrace their dogma even while knowing and seeing the contradictions inherent in it.

“Doublethink”. And to not fully achieve “Doublethink”(by failing to engage in “Crimestop” and thereby force yourself NOT to see the contradictions) would make you guilty of “Crimethink” or “Thoughtcrime”.

Frightening. Orwell meant his book as a cautionary tale, and the left treats it as an instructional manual.
