WICHITA, Kan. — Kansas is recalling hundreds of vehicle license plates on the streets containing the “JAP” lettering in the wake of complaints that it is an ethnic slur offensive to Japanese Americans.
The Kansas Department of Revenue said there are 731 active registrations containing that random letter combination on standard license plates. Vehicle owners were sent a letter dated Tuesday asking them to return the plate to their county vehicle office within 30 days for replacement at no cost. Plates not replaced within that period will be identified in the state’s system and will be replaced at their annual renewal.

Years ago I saw a plate that had LK2FK. Apparently no one complained about it. I wonder what he had in mind?

And of course in Texas there is a grocery store chain—HEB. Which might not fly in NYC or Florida. And for that matter our local store—Schnucks might not fare well either.
If I was issued a plate with HRC on it, I’d turn it in immediately. (After I put it in a metal shredder.)

The terrible situation with Shechem occurred because Dinah went to visit the "daughters of the land", which is the same description as Esav's wives Yehudit and Bashemath, who were a royal PITA to Isaac and Rebecca. Talk about stereotypes. Who knows what a materialistic, entitled Aunt Judy might have encouraged Dinah to think and do. A real 'writing on the wall' type scenario. On the positive side, Amalak did not descend from Yehudit.

Shechem gets a very bad rap, as if he had violated Dinah by non-consensual assault. But what did he know, being a man in the world, save that he "loved the damsel", spoke kindly (from the heart) to her, and craved her as his wife. Perhaps the real trouble began with the influence of Aunt Judy.

In California when you apply for a vanity plate you have to specifically state what it means.

She was wondering why this British exchange students were following, laughing and taking a picture of her car.
I had to explain it.
