I have an idea: we build Mexico a wall on the Southern border and they help us build a wall on the north.

Wait, really? People who force their way into your area that aren’t supposed to be there are a huge drain on your resources?

Damn. That’s just in-fking-credible aint it.

Perhaps Mexico should have stopped them at their border....then they wouldn’t have this problem.

Honduras faces the Atlantic.

Would work for Guatemala, though.

“Chip in at least $20 billion on development projects to help create jobs in Central America..”

That is called “extortion” in the real world-that money would be spent improving the weekend homes of corrupt officials-not on “jobs” anywhere...

The Federales and other LEOs sat on their asses and let these illegals crash Mexico’s southern border and hitch rides north-now those illegals are running amok in Tijuana- chuparlo, Mexico-it’s not our problem...

Resources running low as migrants flood Tijuana. City officials say they're worried about money running low and resources running scarce.... The [Tijuana] mayor is increasingly under strain from the growing number... he expects funds supporting them to run out by Friday.

This is Mexico's problem. We told Mexico before the caravans started to move toward Mexico that they better stop them. Mexico allowed and helped them cross their country and now we are to blame. F Mexico. Keep tear gas going and hit them on the Mexican side of the fence. Screw Mexico, about time this fickle Country realized what a problem they created for themselves. Close the border.

Right.

1. Mexico failed to secure its own border for months.

2. Mexico offered them asylum & jobs. Once that offer was refused, they should have been deported.

Just to be clear: It is the INCOMING foreign affairs minister that has made the $20 billion demand for investment in Central America.

$20 billion. Uh huh. Here is our current foreign aid to Central America: (figures are in millions of dollars)

Belize - 8.6
Costa Rica - 16.2
El Salvador - 74.8
Guatemala - 296.8
Honduras - 127.4
Nicaraugua - 31.4
Panama - 24.9

total - $580.1 million

SOURCE

So, multiply current foreign aid by no less than 35 and we'll keep Hizzoner happy - for now.

No deal.

” They’re worried about money running low and resources running scarce...”

I thought this random group of people were supposed to automatically bring a boom to one’s economy with their hard work and great ethics.

Ask them this. “Do you remember the route you took to get here? Good.”

Central America is a shithole because of corrupt socialist policies. Any money sent there will be stolen.

It’s about priorities.

All Americans paid to redirect the traffic flow of Boston, Massachusetts with a population less than 700,000, and 4 million in the greater Boston area.

How is that insane amount of money justified for the benefit of so few? It was the most expensive highway project ever in the USA.

How was that expenditure ever justified?

Yet, we can’t fund a wall to protect the sovereignty for all Americans? This is about distorted and the wrong priorities of Congress.

The money is there for the wall, plenty of billions. We gave those three C. American countries 1/2 billion last year, it would be better spent on the wall.

The funny thing about the Big Dig - sending $20 billion to depress the raised artery, when all they had to do was have Dukakis give a speech to it.
