Younger Americans are turning on the country and forgetting its ideals, with nearly half believing that it isn’t “great” and many eyeing the U.S. flag as “a sign of intolerance and hatred,” according to a new and disturbing survey.
Those who came of age under former President Barack Obama also have a larger-than-life view of the 44th president and feel that he had a “bigger impact” on the United States than the father of the country and leader of the Revolutionary War, former President George Washington. The YouGov.com poll was the first “State of American Patriotism” survey conducted for the Foundation for Liberty and American Greatness. But what the poll found is that they have a lot of work to do when it comes to those 38 and younger. Just one example: Four in 10 say it is OK to burn the flag.

The highlights provided to Secrets: Half of those surveyed believe the United States is sexist (50 percent) and racist (49 percent). American exceptionalism is on the decline — 46 percent of younger Americans do not agree that “America is the greatest country in the world.” 38 percent of younger Americans do not agree that “America has a history that we should be proud of.” One in eight (14 percent) of millennials agree that “America was never a great country and it never will be.” 46 percent of younger Americans agree that “America is more racist than other countries.” 84 percent of Americans do not know the specific rights enumerated in the First Amendment. 19 percent of millennials believe that the American flag is “a sign of intolerance and hatred.” 44 percent of younger Americans believe Obama had a “bigger impact” on America than Washington, the nation’s first president. On the release of the report, Nick Adams, founder of FLAG, said, “We suspected that we would find decreasing numbers of Americans well-versed in our nation’s most important principles and young people less patriotic than the generations that came before, but we were totally unprepared for what our national survey reveals: an epidemic of anti-Americanism."
He added, "That half of millennials and Gen Z believe that the country in which they live is both ‘racist’ and ‘sexist’ shows that we have a major fraction of an entire generation that has been indoctrinated by teachers starting in grade school that America is what’s wrong with the world."

Shouldn’t they just say “The indoctrinated”?? I mean come on, how much more evidence do we need? Just the other day we saw that video of the teacher calling a student an asshole for wearing a MAGA hat then he was kicked out of class. He did not toe the communist line.

They supported it, believed Pee-lousy when she said “we hav to vote for it to find out what’s in it”, and blame Republicans for the “flaws” in the original legislation as passed because “they needed those Republicans to vote for it”.
What’s more they are demanding single-payer health care.
Anything to the right of FDR is “far right extremism”.
Young and stupid. It generally get’s better with age.
Every Christmas I make a point of giving each grandchild two dollar bills while telling the importance of the picture on the reverse. I fear they get little if any other such commentary. Maybe we need a new bill say a three dollar one which millanials expected in the story can have a picture on the reverse of a boat and plane with the tag don’t like it here than GTFO
OF COURSE since it is a three dollar bill it should bear the likeness of ohola on the front side while smoking dope.
These days my focus is immigration, healthcare, and education. Can’t let Dems own those issues. R’s still seem to prioritize taxes and military over all else though, it’s perpetually 1981 with them.
Should have asked them if America is so danged racist, how do we manage to still have so many of those pesky non-whites around collecting benefits and living the dream.
So this poll we believe? Why when all the other polls are propaganda?
They also don’t know what racism is. It is a far cry from the 60’s.
And who can blame them? Obamacare was nothing more than free health care to elderly Boomers and the poor with Millennials handed the bill. I’m going to laugh my ass off when they vote for socialized medicine!

Here’s a new taxpayer funded program I could get behind: The moment a US cit turns 18, give the new adult a cash stipend (we can argue over the amount) and kick the kid outta the country for a month. Say you can go anye here you want, but you can’t stay here.
Looking back on it, I started on my road to epiphany after spending some time out of the country. It might really pay long term to give some of these idjits a taste of what they think they want.

I agree wholeheartedly! Uncle Sam has made me a world traveler and I never appreciate America more than after I’ve been away from it for a while.
Here’s an indisputable fact: The rest of the world sucks. Young people today think America is sexist, racist, and mired in inequality? Go to any other country in the world and then get back to me.

A month isn’t long enough.
And make sure the money is quite limited with strict penalties against anyone giving them more.
Then, when they return, they can make a public profession of citizenship if they want to continue being Americans, again with severe penalties for anyone lying and then turning against the USA.
Traitors can be summarily expelled. If no one wants them, they can become stateless. Let’s see the UN deal with that.

Well said. I agree 100%. It is the hippies who never grew up who ruined this country. In my opinion, it is leftist baby boomer women who are the real culprits of our destruction.
