Hello everyone!
My apologies if you don’t recognize my name. I’m currently on the phone with Ma (Kathy in Alaska) and she’s finally made it home. There are a lot of aftershocks in Anchorage at the moment. There is major infrastructure damage according to local officials. The tsunami warning has been cancelled! Thank God!

She wanted me to let you all know she’s okay. There’s no power at her home. The weather isn’t “too bad” according to her. They just all need prayer. If she gives me updates, I’ll let you know.

Heads up: If she doesn’t get power restored tonight, we will work on getting the Music Dedication posted later. Fret not!

THANK YOU, MoJo!! Hubby hit me with the news about the quake when I woke up a short time ago. Turned on the tv and OMG!

I figured here would be the place to check for news about Kathy, if she was able to get news posted here. Thrilled she’s ok but it stinks she has no power. I hope it doesn’t take long to get it restored.

Thanks again for letting us know Kathy’s ok. That prayer is answered.

*HUGZ*

Heard from PRO and from Mojo and they both said she was fine and that she was stuck in traffic, as the place where she works has closed early for the day. No idea how her house has fared.

MoJo said she made it home and has no power. I gather the house is intact at least.

I’m thrilled she’s ok. I’ve been watching video clips of the quake people have sent in and that sucker shook HARD. And long.

Had to be scary. I am going on the theory that I’ll post the thread tonight, unless I hear differently. I sent her a text volunteering to do so since she has no power.

Unless mojo wants to do it. :)

Soon as we get a warm up, we get rain.

Yep, and that's what we have today. LOL! Oh well, rain is better than snow.

The wind is just nasty here today. 32mph right now. Sand has turned the sky brown. Blech.

They just had a 5.3 aftershock in AL 15 minutes ago. Yikes!

Scary is at the bottom of the list of words I’d use. Terrifying and heart-stopping are a couple up towards the top. I can’t begin to imagine what it’s like to go through something like that.
I think I’ll take our tornado over her quake, and that was plenty bad.

I think we’re going out tonight but I’m getting ready to scope out some tunes, just in case.

LOL! So your tootsies aren’t any happier about being cooped up in socks and shoes either, huh? That’s two of us who are ready for flip flop weather to come back. :-)

Yuck! You don’t need that wind with it being so dry. At least you can stay inside and miss the brunt of the dust. The poor kittehs must be miserable.

It was quite blustery here overnight but there’s no wind now. Just light rain with heavier stuff moving in. We’ve managed to break 60 degrees and it won’t drop much overnight.

With all the large quakes that have been rumbling on the other side of the Pacific, I’ve been wondering when this side was gonna cut loose. I checked the USGS quake site last night before turning the computer off and there were a LOT of small quakes in that part of AK. My thought was, “That doesn’t look good.” Little did I know ....

Well, I had a dr. appt. at 1pm, but the wind is definitely worse now. No sign of the kittehs. I am pretty sure they have gotten into their “safe space” for the time being. The sky is brown. And it looks foggy in the distance...but it’s dirt. Ugh

I would LOVE some rain right now. Well, not with the sand. That would make mudballs. Been there done that. nasty!

Sorry you had to get out in that mess this afternoon. Couldn’t have been fun. I reckon it’ll be another Benadryl night so you can sleep.

Raining mudballs sounds very unpleasant!
