Hello everyone!
My apologies if you don’t recognize my name. I’m currently on the phone with Ma (Kathy in Alaska) and she’s finally made it home. There are a lot of aftershocks in Anchorage at the moment. There is major infrastructure damage according to local officials. The tsunami warning has been cancelled! Thank God!

She wanted me to let you all know she’s okay. There’s no power at her home. The weather isn’t “too bad” according to her. They just all need prayer. If she gives me updates, I’ll let you know.

Heads up: If she doesn’t get power restored tonight, we will work on getting the Music Dedication posted later. Fret not!

THANK YOU, MoJo!! Hubby hit me with the news about the quake when I woke up a short time ago. Turned on the tv and OMG!

I figured here would be the place to check for news about Kathy, if she was able to get news posted here. Thrilled she’s ok but it stinks she has no power. I hope it doesn’t take long to get it restored.

Thanks again for letting us know Kathy’s ok. That prayer is answered.

*HUGZ*

Thanks, Mojo, for letting everyone know. Power has been restored and the baseboards are warm and doing their thing. This was the biggest and longest I’ve ever been in. Pretty scary on the 4th floor at the office. Everything came off my 2 little shelves and the CPU fell over and the monitors kept trying to fall over.

Another aftershock as I type....

We were first told to shelter in place, but after the first aftershocks security came knocking on doors and told all to evacuate the building. I had to use the stairs and I can only go down one step at a time. Tonya, our temp stayed with me as others helped others who were REALLY freaked out!! Then at the bottom of the stairs and then going outside, the President of the company, who has escorted me across the snow before, took my arm and took me right to my car door.

Getting home was the real issue, and some had a lot farther to go than I did. No lights at intersections and stupid drivers that don’t know they should be treated as 4 way stops. Took almost 2 hours instead of about 20 minutes...aftershocks the whole way, and still now. My brother called me from Pump Station 5, only minutes before phone service was lost. I tried to call a couple folks but nothing doing. But boy am I glad I have a smart phone and learned how to text...I texted most of the way home as traffic was mostly stopped. Then the phone rang and it was MoJo. She kept me company all the way home.

Huge mess here, pictures to follow. Can’t see the floor in my room. Put everything back in the triple wide medicine cabinet in the bathroom, and back into the hall closet (which has a door with a door knob). Out of 10 or so pictures on the wall by the stairs, only one fell down and the glass broke...most into the track of the stair lift which I’ve been using. Picked out all the glass I could. Then pushed the up button and it ground glass most of the way to the top. Sigh...it will need to be looked at before using. Rice container spilled on the kitchen floor. I vacuumed, but I’m still stepping on rice.

So much stuff on the floor in my room I can’t get to my computer, so I’m laptoping it in the lounger in the living room. My back and knees have had enough picking up for the day.

Another aftershock.
