Democratic sweep in California raises GOP suspicion

A combination of recent changes in California’s election rules have lengthened the ballot-counting process and upended traditional voting patterns in a year that Democrats captured a string of U.S. House seats in the state.

Suspicious Republicans have pointed a finger at the state’s dominant Democratic Party, suggesting the changes intentionally left Republicans at a disadvantage.

Whether Democrats have a clear edge is debatable. What’s not is that vote counts in California now routinely stretch long beyond Election Day. A stunning five million ballots, or more than 40 percent of the overall total, were counted after Nov. 6. Some counties still are tabulating ballots.

The stream of later-counted ballots strongly favored Democrats, reversing what initially looked like winning margins for Republican candidates in high-profile House races.

In the former GOP stronghold of Orange County, Republican Rep. Mimi Walters ended election night with a 6,200-vote lead. But Democrat Katie Porter swamped Walters as the vote count continued, winning 58 percent of those tallied after Election Day on her way to defeating the two-term incumbent in the 45th District.

In was a similar case in the neighboring 39th District, where Republican Young Kim was hoping to become the first Korean-American woman elected to Congress. But her healthy election-night edge over Democrat Gil Cisneros vanished when Cisneros claimed 56 percent of the later votes on his way to taking the seat long held by retiring Republican Rep. Ed Royce. …

“2020 will be an eyeopener and Trump will get a shock how corrupt the voting process is”

That’s painfully apparent right now. Our elections are a complete joke. 2020 is just a formality for the left.

California's vote-counting system, its lax/non-existent voter ID requirements, illegal immigrants, etc. just kills the idea of a national popular vote.

ID would not solve the problem in the election. Most of these were absentee and harvested. The other problem is that they give drivers licenses to noncitizens who can also register to vote. Then they have an ID so voter ID does nothing. Illegals registering is the problem because California doesn't verify citizenship.

North Carolina will show once and for all, there is Voter Fraud and it is decisive in both primaries and elections.

We need to get that new census done. CA will lose lots of House seats when we no longer count illegals for representation.

Constitution says "whole Number of free Persons, including those bound to Service for a Term of Years, and excluding Indians not taxed, three fifths of all other Persons".

If we propose a Grand Compromise with illegals counting as two fifths of a person, the GOPe will change it to five fifths.

Re: Fraud is still fraud

And helpless is still helpless.

Sixty years after Kennedy-Nixon, it's time for the GOP to publicly admit that we do not have the will, the passion, or the skills to stop voter fraud.

They shouldn’t be allowed in congress. Obvious voter fraud. When they are seated it’s another thing to add, that says the US govt isn’t a legit gov’t. If it was the voter fraud over and over, would be addressed. I know it’s gone on for a long time. It’s time to stop though.

When you have a so called primary and wind up with only two candidates for US Senator from the same political party that appear on a general election ballot. What do you call that ?

What a bunch of myopic people. All you can focus on is federal elections. The strategic goal is to protect your community and families. That’s done by:

1. Elect a pro-2nd amendment, constitutionals sheriff in your county. That gives you legal and armed muscle to protect your family.

2. Elect conservatives to your schoolboard, village government and county government. That gives you control of your community.

That’s exactly what our Founders did to overthrow King George’s tyranny. Read about it in Committees of Safety. If conservatives aren’t interested in protecting their families and communities, then they deserve a jackboot in their faces.

Who’s helpless?

The GOP has been merging with the Dems for decades besides. Realization of that is necessary. Books have been written about that even before Kennedy-Nixon.

The article is indeed about local elections. The fear of this translating to national is a bit overplayed perhaps, but not unrealistic.

And since we had zero representation in Westminster back before the colonies broke away from the Brits, a comparison with federal elections is nonexistent.

So it’s a clean Dem sweep in CA. I wonder what judge is going to rule that it’s gerrymandered because the result does not reflect the breakdown between GOP and Dem voters.

Cheap Labor & Amnesty are a Suicide Pact.

Republican “leaders” are so dumbed down that they could not even run a lemonade stand.

The GOP are run by imbeciles.

Re: Who is helpless?

The GOP leadership and, more recently, the Free Republic Choir that blames every Conservative defeat on voter fraud.

So you don’t think fraud exists in spite of the repeated instances of blatant evidence? OK.

The “GOP leadership” is what it is. The second chapter of “The Conscience of a Conservative” (the Goldwater book) made it clear that they were going the same route as the Dems even back in the 50s. One quote from the book of Arthur Larson (a member of Eisenhower’s cabinet) called “A Republican Looks At His Party” made it obvious.

They aren’t dumbed down. They just lie about what they are.
[I]f a job has to be done to meet the needs of the people, and no one else can do it, then it is the proper function of the federal government.
That is a quote from A Republican Looks At His Party by Arthur Larson, a member of President Eisenhower’s cabinet and one of the earlier RINOs. He basically copied his book title from a book by Democrat Dean Acheson (a man who was investigated for ties to Soviet Russia) called A Democrat Looks At His Party. Both books were about expanding the federal government beyond Constitutional bounds.

And it is also not a question of “cheap labor” either, especially when the value of the dollar is constantly being driven down thus making US labor less and less affordable. Not to mention, the notion of open borders is straight out of the Communist Manifesto.

Re: “So you don’t think fraud exists in spite of the repeated instances of blatant evidence?”

Actually, I have decided to completely embrace the “voter fraud” issue.

My point is, since we have done absolutely nothing to stop voter fraud for the last six decades, why don’t we stop complaining about it, and just admit we are helpless?
