Yep... In another life and career I heard that a lot. “Let’s hear it for him...”
“Well he did what he thought was best in his heart.”
In this case what turned out to be there was an arrow...
Forget south America and afr8. How about south l.a. and Detroit?
A lot of kids today are raised with the belief that there is no evil in the world, and that their kindness will let them land on savage island, bike through Tajikistan, hike in Iran, visit Venezuela, canoe up to a cannibal village in New Guinea, be blonde and go join the anti- apartheid crowd in Soweto, etc...
They keep thinking the world is basically a big Seattle.
ROFLMAO!!!
There is humor AND truth in your statement.
I have become a surrogate dad to two hispanic kids in Brooklyn.
The father they did have beat them and made them sleep in the hallways if he was in a bad mood and worse.
The mother and they are away from him now and as he was threatening her, I made it understood if he harmed them he would run into several Italian men ONCE.
And it would be the last time he ran into anybody.
It’s TWO YEARS and I’m finally getting a grip on them and the ship is turning around.
I had to be VERY TOUGH with them at time and then showed that i cared at other times.
I still wouldn’t trust then with a 20 in the middle of the room and me not there :)
But at least they’re going to school now and one is actually doing very well. No more shoplifting, no more being nasty to mom.
There IS a lot of work to be done in this country and this WAS a waste of a life and a life of service.
I AM SORRY.
I cannot change my opinion to make folks here who are UTTERLY misguided in what martyrdom is, happy.
I have to agree 100 percent.
I see it in my one liberal nephew.
Behind every evil person is a SWELL person waiting to come out.
But it’s just NOT TRUE quite a bit of the time!!
How about sending in a few cheap drones with cameras and microphones....camp em out close to village....try and understand their actions related to words...get an idea of language...then try and go there..with gifts of things the natives need...Unless Mr Chau had the gift of tongues he was very ill advised regarding his strategy.
I still wouldnt trust then with a 20 in the middle of the room and me not there :)
Tribalism reigns among tribesmen. Who knew?
If I tell some idiot to jump off and he does, thats not my fault. Unless were liberals, we are responsible for our actions.
ROFL!!!
I would be lying if I said I was going to turn these kids into my nephews. :)
But at least they may avoid prison and possibly have a slightly normal middle class life.
That is the most BRILLIANT idea I’ve read in a while.
Why can others come up with these ideas but not me? :)
And that doesn’t have to be done by NASA today!
It can be done for a few hundred dollars.
At least you have a fighting chance.
As far as bringing disease, if someone has had all their shots and doesn’t spread a venereal disease, what is the danger?
Is it that a common cold or the flu could wipe them out?
The Sentinelese have been hostile to outsiders since first contact in 1867. It's likely that they were not on friendly terms with natives on neighboring islands before that.
HOW DO YOU PEOPLE KNOW THESE THINGS?!?!!?
WHY DID I GO TO COLLEGE!?!?
And thanks for the info.
Your opinion. Actions and speech don’t support your proposition.
I call them savages only as a way of distinguishing them from people like you.
Yeah I just can’t figure out why you would have to go around to the other side of the world to get shot full of arrows, probably skinned and eaten by savages when you can get that done in Detroit. Think of how much jet A fuel he could have saved. He Also wouldn’t have had to eat curry.
ROFL!!!!!
LOL!!!!
shot full of arrows...that’s GOT to hurt and leave a mark the next day!!
The term savage has a negative connotation. Chau did not respect the rule of law. He seems to be the savage.
HOW DO YOU PEOPLE KNOW THESE THINGS?!?!!?
We never stop learning.
WHY DID I GO TO COLLEGE!?!?
To learn that you still don't know everything and cannot stop learning.
