The top admiral overseeing US Naval forces in the Middle East, Vice Adm. Scott Stearney, was found dead in his residence in Bahrain on Saturday, the Navy said in a statement.
While his death is being investigated, officials say there is no evidence of foul play at this time.
"This is devastating news for the Stearney family, for the team at Fifth Fleet, and for the entire Navy," Adm. John Richardson, the chief of naval operations, told CNN Saturday. "Adm. Stearney was a decorated professional and a devoted father, a devoted husband and a good friend."

Sigh. Yes, I know.
My apologies.
Were both members of the choir.
IMHO
I hope he did.
No apologies ever needed :)
there is a lot of evil in the Deep State.
Makes a difference if he was discovered exsanguinated.
FWIW, I care less about who than why. And I care nothing at all about the guy supposedly taking the dirt nap. :-)
If Obama was still in office, I’d be wanting an autopsy, real quick.
It’s HORRIBLE man!!
Everything I believed and thought our government stood for has been a lie.
I started suspecting during the second Bush administration.
I’ve been certain since the soft coup started.
My boss passed away this year, 58, died of a massive heart attack in his sleep. He was fit, a vegetarian, exercised, ran, jogged, mountain bike rider in the Santa Cruz Mtns, etc. It came as quite a shock.
My point was, and I admit it was probably poorly made as most of my points usually are (lol), that we should automatically be suspicious of any sudden death of one of our top commanders who dies in the midst of a known nest of professionally trained assassins, who have all the resources, cooperation and assistance of state actors at their disposal.
Maybe (maybe, I said, not certainly) we shouldn't even be sending out commanders who aren't in top condition on such assignments. It serves to muddy the waters, and the waters are muddy enough already. I wouldn't make it a hard and fast rule; obviously, there may be times when a the nexus of a commander's skills and aptitude uniquely qualify him for a given job, recent decathlon gold medal wins be damned... Okay, I've said enough. And I'm probably getting in deeper the more I say, so I'll stop here.
Again, very happy you're still with us, Inspectorette!
At no point in history has any government ever wanted its people to be defenseless for any good reason ~ nully's son
Nut-job Conspiracy Theory Ping!
To get onto The Nut-job Conspiracy Theory Ping List you must threaten to report me to the Mods if I don't add you to the list...
Hostile place?
Wasn't it about the first place EX-president obama visited?
I understand what you are saying - the circumstances could indeed be the result of dirty work afoot.
.
Huh? No HQs are sea-based. It’s been that way since......forever. No navy has a permanent HQ at sea. It’s not sustainable.
Other than the Secretary of the Navy and the HQ of the Marines, I expect the leadership of the Navy to be out on the Blue Waters.
navy leadersyhip to be on the Blue Waters.
RIP.
Glad ya made it!
We live in “interesting times”
You don’t have a military background I guess.
