WHAT I'VE LEARNED FROM LIFE

"I've learned that although it's hard to admit, I'm secretly glad by parents are strict with me." (Age 14)

"I've learned that silent company is often more healing than words of advice." (Age 24)

"I've learned that the greater a person's sense of guilt, the greater the need to cast blame on others." (Age 16)

"I've learned that regardless of your relationship with your parents, you miss them terribly after they die." (Age 53)

"I've learned that making a living is not the same as making a life." (Age 58)

"I've learned that if you pursue happiness, it will elude you. But if you focus on your family, the needs of others, your work, meeting new people, and doing the very best you can, happiness will find you."

"I've learned that whenever I decide something with kindness, I usually make the right decision." (Age 66)

"I've learned that when I have pains, I don't have to be one." (Age 82)

"I've learned that I still have a lot to learn." (Age 92)

Someone is a computer genius...I’m going to have to watch a couple more times to see it all.

Thanks, Luv and Pro.

One of the worst things is that the big one just did NOT stop. Now every time a shake starts, I wonder if it will stop or keep going. The wait is nerveracking!

Good evening, radu...a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.

Thanks for keeping up on the magnitudes of the various shakers.

Are you warming up yet?

WOW!!!!!! Well, hopefully all of this nonsense you're having to put up with will stop and you can get some form of normal back.

That is really crazy what is going on up there. I saw the live coverage from the CBS affiliate in Anchorage. Their studio looked like an absolute mess after the earthquake.

It did go on and on for a long time. When something like that is happening and freaking you out, time seems to slow to a crawl. It was like that both times we were hit by a tornado.

At least with tornados, they’re here and gone. Those aftershocks just don’t want to slow down!

You’re welcome. I wish there weren’t any more shakers going on though! They just KEEP coming.

We did warm up this evening - - after the first round of rain came through. It cooled back down once the second round came through, though it still isn’t too bad. They SAY we should hit 70 later today but then they’d said yesterday would be that warm. We’ll see how it goes.
We’ll be back in the 40s all next week. :-(

Are you still getting freezing rain?

“So many homes were lost or destroyed in the Earthquake Park area”

That’s sad. Last I heard (15-20 years ago), my ex lived there on Turnagain Pkwy., which is so close to Earthquake Park. (Did they ever open Earthquake Park itself for re-building? That idea was being kicked around when I left, IIRC. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid!)

Thanks, Meg...my brother has arrived for a couple days and then heads home to Georgia. He’s hoping for a couple months at home until the next job.

So sorry that your back is giving you fits.

A Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.
