Pelosi, Dems to pass DREAM Act in next congress. It's their first order of business

The probable incoming speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, said in a statement on Saturday that one of the first orders of business for the new Democratic majority in the House would be to pass a DREAM Act, putting millions of children of illegal aliens on a path to citizenship.

Pelosi was responding to a letter from House Democrats eager to get the DREAMers legalized as soon as possible.

CBSNews:

"America draws strength from our long, proud heritage as a nation of immigrants.  In the Majority, Democrats will work to reverse the Republicans' destructive anti-immigrant agenda," Pelosi said in a statement Saturday, responding to a letter sent Thursday by the Congressional Hispanic Caucus.  "Our House Democratic Majority will once again pass the Dream Act to end the uncertainty and fear inflicted on patriotic young men and women across the country."

Lawmakers in the Caucus urged Pelosi – who is vying to secure her second spell as speaker of the House during the upcoming congressional session – to schedule votes on legislation to codify protections for recipients of the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program and for immigrants with Temporary Protected Status (TPS) within the first 100 days of the 116th Congress.

"We will protect TPS recipients and those fleeing unimaginable violence," Pelosi added in her statement.

It's true.  America has always drawn strength from immigrants – legal immigrants.  As for illegal aliens, it's a debatable question whether overall they have been a plus or a minus for the country.

Like Republicans repealing Obamacare, they will all support this bill until they can actually pass it, at which time they will no longer support it.

If a deal is make to build the wall in exchange for this make sure you get what you want first. RATs are liars and thieves and will happily break their end of any bargain if you give them what they want first.

That have that easily, Rubio’s Gang of Amnesty bill passed with ease and it was a far wider amnesty.

You had a chance to proofread.

We won’t have a chance if we do one more amnesty, no matter how small.

I agree. Children who have been raised in the U.S. should be dealt with differently then illegals. But, the Democrats need to give us the Wall.

The amazing thing is that back in 2009...they had the Senate and House votes to carry this, and failed. You can go back over 20 years and find the DREAM Act just never got the votes necessary.

Well it damn well sure better have all of the President’s money for a wall or that MFer ain’t going nowhere and you will give him more to campaign on, “democrats choosing MS-13 over American’s, our precious daughters and sons will be harmed” and every time an illegal hurts a American citizen, it will be like a laser beam pointed right at you...Yep, you should run with that.

Add in what Trump wants to fully fund the wall, and Trump will not veto.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
They are illegal aliens, same as their parents who brought them here illegally.
Same as their illegal alien aunts, uncles, cousins, etc.
How do you deport the parents after you amnesty the kids?
Grandparents?
Build the Wall
Deport them ALL!
I agree that would be an acceptable compromise. We also need to end birthright citizenship.
No doubt, they are ramping up their Hispanic voter drive for 2020.
Let them have their fun. I don’t see how going to bat for the DREAM Act is a political winner for them (above and beyond not passing the Senate or getting signed into law).
“Didn’t Trump ask the present Congress to draft a Dream Act? “
Yep. He certainly did.
