Dang, if only we on the right had someone who could write and speak like that. I mean, we all like Ann Coulter, but Camille makes her look like a callow high-schooler throwing insults.
She is someone who’d be fascinating to talk with over dinner. Left wing or not, she’s someone worthy of respect.
It is surprising (on the surface) that they haven't become card-carrying Deplorables. But then we must realize that they are hard-core pro-abortionists, and Dershowitz would eliminate the 2nd Amendment if he could (Paglia is silent on gu. Rights, to the best of my knowledge).
So, I remain fans of them when they speak for our team, but incredibly wary of inviting them to my home for a barbecue. To wit: who would you rather invite?
1. Jeb Bush and Paul Ryan
2. Camille Paglia and Alan Dershowitz
3. Glen Beck and Mark Levin
2.
Not even close.
“You shall worship the Lord your God, and him only shall you serve.”
why in the world do we need to serve anybody, divine or otherwise...are we not freeborn, unbound from the humility of bowing and scraping...?
Thank you, John Locke.
Anyway, ask Camille Paglia why she thinks we need “true idols.”
She might be right more often if she devoted less effort to letting everyone know how brilliant, superbly educated, and well-spoken she is.
To argue with someone you have to fundamentally agree on certain first principles. Rush has talked about the fact that the poles right now agree on literally nothing. Nothing at all. Even a statement like “I want the best for my children” which would have been considered a platitude by both sides in the 80s and 90s is now considered selfish and privilege-ridden.
you honestly can't think of anyone you might oughta serve?
I suspect she’s the counterpoint to Ann Coulter. Both of them feel a need to virtue signal so they appear to be middle-roaders.
Can’t understand why she would vote for Bernie or see anything in Harris.
I hear you. But that’s means you’d prefer the company of an abortion-loving/gun-hating “Deplorable” for burgers and ribs and cole slaw vs anti-abortion/gun-toting #NeverTrumpers. In that context, I am still thinking over my guest list.
‘Anyway, ask Camille Paglia why she thinks we need true idols.
I’ll take from that you have no answer to my query...
Camille - what a mind! They way she uses words. They are like a knife. Wow...love that woman!
Actually, I had to address something smoking on the stove.
I’m curious as to why you believe humanity is born free and so on. The experience of the vast majority of human beings throughout our history has been subservience to other human beings. Why wouldn’t you consider that to be the natural state of humanity?
How strange. I thought the Pravda was that she loves masculinity and men. Maybe she loves men in a disembodied sort of way.
Booker: MY SPARTACUS MOMENT !!!
“Freeborn.” Stop right there.
Who made you?
Do you have a purpose?
What are you here for?
What are you supposed to be doing?
Where are you going?
Seriously.
And don’t waste our time with any Sartre or Nietzche stuff.
‘Why wouldnt you consider that to be the natural state of humanity?’
we are not born to servitude, are we...? we may be subjected to it, through weakness and timidity, and various other mental malfeasances, and yes, the historical state of mankind is the story of corrupted will to power and its imposed enforcement...but our natural will is to freedom, both of action and thought; subservience is anathema to our free wills, willing or otherwise...
