Principal Bans Candy Canes Because ā€˜Jā€™ Shape Stands For Jesus. That Was Only The Beginning.

If jolly old Saint Nick were a real person who had a real naughty and nice list, Nebraska school principal Jennifer Sinclair would most definitely be getting nothing but coal in her stocking this year.

Sinclair has went on an anti-Christmas rampage, banning candy canes because their “J” shape represents Jesus, the reason for the season. However, that was just the beginning.

What kinds of items, you ask? Liberty Counsel provided a memo from principal Jennifer Sinclair that spelled out in detail all the verboten paraphernalia at Manchester Elementary School in Omaha:

Santas or Christmas items (clip art) on worksheets Christmas trees in classrooms

Elf on the Shelf — that’s Christmas-related

Singing Christmas carols

Playing Christmas music

Sending a Scholastic book that is a Christmas book — that’s Christmas-related

Making a Christmas ornament as a gift —This assumes that the family has a Christmas tree which assumes they celebrate Christmas. I challenge the thought of, “Well they can just hang it somewhere else.”

Candy Cane — that’s Christmas-related. Historically, the shape is a “J” for Jesus. The red is for the blood of Christ, and the white is a symbol of his resurrection. This would also include different colored candy canes.

Red/Green items — traditional Christmas colors Reindeer

Christmas videos/movies and/or characters from Christmas movies

Sinclair — who’s in her first year as Manchester’s principal — noted in the memo that she “come[s] from a place that Christmas and the like are not allowed in schools” and that “as a public school” Manchester Elementary will be seek to be “inclusive and culturally sensitive to all of our students.”

“I have unknowingly awoken a ‘sleeping giant’ with many of you,” she added. “I apologize for the stress that ‘Christmas/holiday/ Grinch/Santa/tree’ emails and conversations have caused you.”

So what exactly is Sinclair allowing at the school? Prepare yourself. This is going to make your blood boil a bit:

Gifts to students

Students making a gift for a loved one

Snowmen, snow women, snow people, snowflakes Gingerbread people

Holidays Around the World — purposeful presentation of information to teach about different cultures

Sledding

Hot chocolate

Polar Bears

Penguins

Scarves, boots, earmuffs, and hats

Yetis

Olaf — “Frozen”

No Santa. No Jesus. But yetis? Absolutely!

This woman might just be certifiably insane. Just throwing that out there before we continue down this long, painful journey into the rabbit hole of progressive thinking.

Liberty Counsel sent a demand letter to the superintendent of Elkhorn Public Schools about the Christmas ban, urging it to “immediately overrule and specifically disavow the sweeping directive banning Christmas holiday items, and require Principal Sinclair to undertake review of District policy and the law.”

Shockingly, the district responded to Liberty Counsel, saying they investigated the matter themselves and found Sinclair’s policies to be in violation of Board Policy, information Manchester staffers that “certain Christmas symbols” were indeed permissible.

Sinclair is fairly young to be a principal and this indicates quite clearly that she is a product of an education system that has brainwashed her into being a good little statist robot.

They have convinced her that separation of church and state means no religious influence on government policy or on government property. That’s not true. It means no official church denomination for the United States. Nothing more.

This is why much of the battle we’re fighting for the culture needs to be done on college campuses, public schools, and in the entertainment industry. This is where the propaganda is being spread and how the ideas are getting planted in young folks head.

Here’s to hoping more victories for religious liberty down the pike.

I’m hoping she will not be allowed to return to the position.

I guess we’ll see.

[What does this mean?]

It means, “I thought I’d be a liberal hero but the blowback was immediate. Now, I’m just pretending it was just an innocent mistake. All a misunderstanding.”

There was a Morgan Freeman movies based on a true story about a retired military fellow who took over as a principal at a NJ school. As I recall he was an Army drill instructor previously. I don’t know if he taught before that, but I think the requirements for Principals vary by State and don’t always require being a teacher first.

Democrats and the NEA are actively destroying the U.S.A.

That is not a comprehensive list. Just two of the offenders.

Let me add the MSM for a third offender.

Early/Mid 30s with that much experience. I’ve seen executives, officers, etc with less time that had more responsibility. Heck you can be President at 35. That all being said I think she’s bat-s*** crazy.

Likely she’ll remain....if they attempt to dismiss her, and since a liberal, you know the ACLU and a host of others will rile their feathers in her defense.

Then too we really don’t know much about the board who approved her....doesn’t sound like they were all that interested in vetting her much unless they too are in the dumpster of progressives.

sometimes you just have to push back. the principal of my kids elementary school banned Christmas songs. So I wrote/called school superintendent — Fairfax County Va — who told me that Christmas songs were
absolutely llowed as long as other religions songs were included in the winter concert. Concert could not be exclusively Christmas.

According to Wikipedia ...

According to folklore, in 1670, in Cologne, Germany, the choirmaster at Cologne Cathedral, wishing to remedy the noise caused by children in his church during the Living Crèche tradition of Christmas Eve, asked a local candy maker for some “sugar sticks” for them. In order to justify the practice of giving candy to children during worship services, he asked the candy maker to add a crook to the top of each stick, which would help children remember the shepherds who visited the infant Jesus. In addition, he used the white colour of the converted sticks to teach children about the Christian belief in the sinless life of Jesus. From Germany, candy canes spread to other parts of Europe, where they were handed out during plays reenacting the Nativity. As such, according to this legend, the candy cane became associated with Christmastide.

The earliest verifiable reference to stick candy is a record of the 1837 Exhibition of the Massachusetts Charitable Mechanic Association, where confections were judged competitively. A recipe for straight peppermint candy sticks, white with coloured stripes, was published in 1844. The “candy cane” is found in literature in 1866, though no description of color or flavor was provided. Its earliest known association with Christmas was in 1874, and by 1882 canes were being hung on Christmas trees.

So ... some Christian references, but nothing about the canes being a J for Jesus.

Did Yeshu spell his name with a "J"

Te whole thing is nuts! my gosh if she wants Christmas decorations out of schools let her teach in a school system that doesn't celebrate it.

This just flies as the NWO idea of eliminating Christianity.

This is another example of abridgment of constitutionally enumerated rights by a state actor imo, 1st Amendment-protected religious expression and free speech in this case.

From the 14th Amendment:

H O W E V E R …

Unless Pres. Trump can successfully call out the RINO / Democratic-controlled House for scandalously ignoring its constitutional duty to support the Senate in making penal laws that discourage state actors from abridging constitutionally enumerated rights, then patriots who value their freedom of religious expression will need to wait until at least after 2020 elections for such protections.

I would put the MSM first.

The press is the nourishment that the other two need to thrive.

The old days where we had a much more fair press are long gone.

Oh bull - you actually believed that you won?

You can have Christmas carols at a Christmas Concert so long as you include non-Christian ones?! Like some nice Islamic chants?
