U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz with three other senators introduced a bill Wednesday that is aimed at fully funding a wall along the US-Mexico border... The WALL Act would fully fund the border wall by closing existing loopholes that provide illegal immigrants with federal benefits and tax credits, without affecting the benefits and tax credits used by Americans.

This bill should have been introduced on January 20, 2017 and signed into law by January 21, 2017.

I was hoping Trump would shut the gov’t down in Apr 2017 to get wall. I’ll be surprised if he gets it now. At the end of the day the only thing R Congress delivered was a tax cut and increase in military spending. Everything else has been Trump.

RE: Ted Cruz is grandstanding again.

So, what should he do in order for folks to say that he is not grandstanding?

This is all political posturing. It goes on in both houses and with both Dems and Republicans. Their intent is not to ever get anything done. Their intent is to posture for their base. A perfect example is Obamacare. The Republicans were all for repealing it when Obama was in office. Trump comes in and suddenly Republicans can’t get enough votes together to flush Obamacare. They want these issues. Forever.

Same old Ted... It will NEVER get passed the House.

Ted's not the bad guy here. He's doing exactly what he should be doing.

Put the pols on record in the House who don't support this bill, and criticize them.

What would we spend to save America? Most in government are too comfortable and don’t take the country seriously enough to save it. Even if this dream of a wall is built, it has to come with permanent funding or the leftists will let it rot eventually. This country is so screwed.

It puts the RINOs on the spot. They will need to find an excuse as to why they can’t vote for it.

If it comes to it, the wall will,be built through military funding as it is necessary for the defence of the Republic.

It’s going to be so sweet seeing Chucky have to fund it though.

Why wasn’t the wall funded in Trumps first budget? It is impossible now.

Yes. However, Congressmen will be held accountable. Cruz is taking names. The vote should be published for all to see. The names should be read on public television. “If you are mugged by an illegal, you have Cogressman ______________. to thank.”

I know it’s obvious to all, that Obama could do whatever he wanted, without fear that some activist judge would overturn it. It’s easy to want conservative judges to have blocked him, like liberal judges do Trump, but of course, most conservative judges are not willing to sacrifice their souls OR the Constitution, to make political points. We may get martyred here on earth, but will be rewarded in Heaven. Only when you compare our whisp of life here on earth, to eternity, does it make any sense.

Why wasn’t the wall funded in Trumps first budget?

Even right before the mid terms would have been a good time to force the issue.

It is impossible now.

Impossible now? Congress told Trump that it was better to do it after the mid-terms than before the mid terms. Trump agreed with that plan. And here we are after the mid-terms with about a week or so to go. Time's almost up.

Ryan will never let it come to a committee, let alone a floor vote.

Ted's not the bad guy here. He's doing exactly what he should be doing.

Maybe, but his timing is terrible. This bill should have been proposed two years ago - not at the eleventh hour.

People are right to suspect that this is a case of showboating.
