It might have been me. Back in the lead-up to the year 2000 there were many on here who were convinced that Clinton would use the Y2K crisis as a subterfuge to suspend the Constitution and impose martial law. I was of the opinion that wasn't going to happen for one simple reason: somebody as politically calculating as Clinton would have to realize he would not get away with it.
After some reflection on my own words, it occurred to me that was the only really limit on the left's behavior: whether or not the believe they can get away with something without being held to account. I've mentioned that many times over the years in varying contexts. They rule of law, standards of professional ethics, personal morality are to the left meaningless and set no bounds on their behavior. They will always do whatever the believe they can get away with.

I'm afraid there'd be a great deal of "fuss", considering there are 150 million gun owners possessing 400 million guns.
Even if only one in ten refused to comply with a general confiscation order, that would be an army 15 million strong. That's ten times the number of federal troops under arms.
Don't think that the feds haven't wargamed this scenario out, many times in the past. I'll guarantee you that every time they have, they've lost in the end.
