The left has always downplayed any such thing as "anchor babies" and derided the term as "offensive."
But how else to explain the Honduran caravan migrant who managed to slip into the U.S. on Nov. 26 illegally and, surprise, surprise, gave birth to a new baby just a few days later? That's the story from Fox News:
SAN DIEGO – A Honduran woman affiliated with a caravan of Central American migrants has given birth on U.S. soil shortly after entering the country illegally.
Customs and Border Protection said Wednesday that agents arrested the woman Nov. 26 after she entered the country illegally near Imperial Beach, California, across the border from Tijuana, Mexico.
The woman was eight months pregnant and was taken to a hospital after complaining of abdominal pain. She and her family were released from custody on Sunday, pending the outcomes of their immigration cases.
Catch and release. Entrance ahead of all the other migrants waiting in line. No waiting in Mexico. No fees for applying for asylum. No penalty for entering the U.S. illegally. Is that a good deal or what? No wonder she made sure she slipped in, ahead of all the other migrants, getting into the U.S. under the wire. She had a deadline, she knew she had a deadline, and she made it.
And with the new baby, the good stuff for her has barely started.
With no education, no mastery of the English language, no salable skills, low literacy, and no father in the picture mentioned (maybe there is, but I doubt it, given the cultural values of the Honduran lower middle classes), she has no practical means of succeeding in America. Yet with that baby in tow, she's hit the jackpot.

Tough lady to walk 1600 miles in her 9th month of pregnancy...
Or the media lies.
There were reports of women 8 months PG being in the caravan. How many more got pregnant on the way, hoping to drop a baby within a year of sneaking in?
To top that off she looks to be about 14 not 18. Not only walked 1600 miles, but scaled up a 20ft metal barrier wall and shinnied back down the other side. Pictures of her pre-birth show a very large pregnant belly, the kid was BIG. Pretty hard tale to swallow even for the fake newz boys.
I think that what we need to do is have a Gitmo-like arrangement with Mexico. Just over the border on our side, they will have technical jurisdiction over various sites that cover several acres. The US Border Patrol will have permanant leases on the land for $1/year, and have the right to build, modify or destroy any structure on that land. Further, Mexico will allow US Border Patrol (and any other employees of the US Government), full and complete authority while on such land, in perpetuity.
Anchor baby problem (partially) solved. Of course, the real solution is for the US Congress to pass - RIGHT NOW, BEFORE THE DEMS GET CONTROL OF THE HOUSE - a bill that prohibits the US from exercising jurisdiction over any person born to 2 people who are not both US citizens, legal permanent residents, or one of each.
So deport her and let her decide if she wants to leave her newborn with strangers or take it with her. Problem solved.
That anchor baby loophole NEEDS to be closed ASAP.
It’s very hard to change that. It would require an act of Congress. Since the Democrats control the House, there is zero chance of that happening.
Up to SCOTUS now?
