Boulder residents have days to comply with order to ‘certify’ rifles as deadline looms

Residents of Boulder, Colorado who refuse to comply with a state order to “certify” their so-called assault rifles this month could face fines, jail and confiscation of their firearms.

Following through on an “assault weapons” ban passed in May, the Boulder city council is requiring residents who already owned prohibited rifles, pistols, and shotguns to certify them with the police by December 27 or face repercussions, according to the Denver Post.

The sale or possession of assault weapons, high-capacity magazines and bump stocks was banned earlier this year and weapons already owned by Boulder residents were grandfathered in, allowing until the end of the year for a certificate to be obtained.

[[They did this in NY a few years ago. Almost ZERO compliance.]]

It doesn’;t matter how much compliance there is- they knew there wouldn’t be nearly any compliance, that wasn’t the goal=- the goal was to give the courts the ‘authority’ to deem a person a felon IF they are caught with the unregistered rifles- so that they can never own a gun again

CALIFORNIA: Under Governor Pete Willson, then California’s Attorney General was a REPUBLICAN named Dan Lungren. Lungren pushed the registration of the Chinese made AR, the SKS. Lungren publicly promised the state has no intention of ever confiscation the SKS firearms. Lungren was successful in forcing the registration on all SKS firearms and not more than TWO years later, Lungren issued a confiscation law for the SKS. Yes, most of those in the state house were complicit in Lungren’s pursuit. Clearly, no matter what the party affiliation is of any puke politician like that of Dan Lugren and his supporting buddies in the state house and when we the people offer no worthy resistance other than words of complaint about the GOVERNMENT denying us our God given right to self protection of our choosing, we have clearly surrendered those rights. The globalist’s controlled politician’s motto: We’ll convince the people to give us an inch and then we take it all! That has not changed and it is past time that it does!!

How do the solons in Boulder know who owns what?

It does not matter.

The intended use is selective and opportunistic. They will search premises on an unrelated charge of some kind ("hate speech threats"), find prohibited firearms, and then prosecute the resident on the new felony charges, in addition to whatever the original basis was for the search.

A felony conviction will forever bar that resident from owing or possessing firearms in the future and make that a Federal law enforcement issue as well. And a conviction will be extensively publicized to terrorize other residents.

Legal defense costs will likely bankrupt the resident even if they mount a successful defense. "The process is the punishment".

This kind of problem will not be solved by voting.

No matter what the war is, the foot soldiers do the dying. If you don’t want to be on the wrong side of the battle quit the job. T

The problem IS awaiting laws and events to be litigated while government marches ever further towards total tyranny. When they go door to door, it won’t be during daylight hours, it will be between the hours of 3 AM and 5 AM, and they will skip YOUR house. They will come back and do another, and another and another. They will not go door to door during the same time period. They will catch one or several, miles apart, demonize them, turn even you against those people. Rinse and repeat until nobody is left to stand.

If they raid you neighbors house, it is your DUTY to interfere, or be a slave. It really is that simple.

The problem is that there are so many criminals, drug dealers, and child molesters living among us all, that we will just assume it is a deserved raid and go back to sleep.

It is really too late, we are too civilized, and too comfortable. Our chains are quite fashionable, we all have them now.

Yup...And of the folks who do actually “certify”; down ther road when confiscation begins the state will tell those individuals to turn over their firearms or they won’t get their drivers license renewed. They will whittle away at citizens rights via blackmail.

Its gonna get sporty soon. I’m going long rope and lamp posts.

“Police officers on the street take orders, and have no say.”

That is not a defense and has not been a defense since the findings of the Nuremberg Tribunals were adopted into US law as a result of Control Council Law No. 10.

“Obeying orders” is therefore NOT an affirmative defense for violating a Constitutional right, a fundamental Human Right, or (where applicable) a state constitutional right.

Also, there’s the simple fact that if the police decide to provoke a revolt (as we are seeing in France) then their badges and uniforms will not be a protection but instead will be a target for retaliation.

Which is just as it was in Colonial America in the period 1775 to 1983. The officers of the Crown were shot and killed for violating the Common Law and Magna Carta rights of the colonists.

Also, you raise the interesting prospect of sheriff’s departments protecting the rights of citizens against the avarices of police departments.

Will the police yield before a sheriff’s department that asserts the rights of the people over a mere law?

Or will they fire on sheriff’s deputies who protect citizens?

Seems to me these are valid considerations.

In any case, I restate my contempt for anyone with a badge who acts to deny a citizen their rights.

And what is truly ugly here is the insult to the liberty that was purchased for us with blood.

That wouldn’t work in Massachusettts-——county government is virtually nil, except for the courts. Most MA resident don’t even know who their sheriff is.

Ironic that Massachusetts was the birthplace of liberty and then the first place to kill it.

Who is going to stop them?

Possibly the supreme court but not until after your friend was arrested for non compliance then spent a fortune on attorneys fees and appeals just to hope to get to the SC.........

The cops will have their eyes open
for any sightings of rifles being
transported around Boulder, or by
whistleblowers who fear the evil
gun, and know who has one. It may
take a while, but they’ll get them
thru attrition. The ones who refuse
to register will have to be at their
best behavior as any domestic violence
call to their home results in a search
for weapons. And there’s the questions
Docs ask about weapons in the home.
Boulder is turning it’s
law abiding citizens into criminals.

The point is, those law enforcement folks are going to have to choose sides: their bosses or the Constitution. “I am just following orders” is no defense ... in any sense of the word.
