The problem for Macron is that this is no longer about gas/diesel taxes.
Even students are getting into the act (for some of the most inane and unrelated reasons).
It seems that everyone outside of Paris is just p!ssed off about something. Per David Asman of Fox Biz (a few moments ago), 70% of Frenchmen not rioting support the riots.
70%.
And only 18% support Macron.

I imagine the Islamists in France are lying low. With the general population this stoked up, they could turn on a dime and attack the Moslems.

Macro n has been in hiding for a week.

There is some worry now about the effect on the EU election. Macron’s Party? I don’t see them getting more than 15-to-16 percent of the vote. Le Pen’s National Front might go past 35-percent (last time in the EU election, they took 25-percent). Whoever is advising Macron....probably needs to be fired.

I wonder if our "idiot class" infesting D.C., understands extrapolation.

Address the Nation next week? Is he encouraging violence and riots tomorrow? Shouldn’t he be out there talking now?

I think the leadership in France, in the EU, and in the UK are completely out of touch with the ordinary voters. In fact, I think they thought that they would just ram their plans down the voters throats.
Looks like some chickens are coming home to roost.
New riots are feeding off the existing riots though there is no connection in cause or issue.
Wait until the muzzies get in the game. And don't forget more popcorn when you go to the store.

Macron will address the Yellow Jackets from a well fortified
bunker. Afraid the French people will have his head on a platter.

Shouldnt he be out there talking now?He hasn't the slightest idea what to say. He's already deferred the gas/diesel tax thingy until next year and it didn't make a bit of difference.
The riots are getting some momentum.
Burn, baby, burn.

This is a more radical reaction to the same thing that got Trump elected here. They perceive what is going on, that the elite are financing a society where on the backs of the very people they seek to marginalize.
Further, they seek to make that marginalization permanent by importing a brown-shirt class to keep them quiet (muslims).

Macron should just use the elite's traditional response to complaints. After all, that's always worked before, right?

Marie Antoinette never said “let them eat cake.” It is a myth.

I believe it was Hillary Clinton. The full quote being, “Let them eat cake while I con them out of even more money.”
