Immigration attorney Naimeh Salem said US embassy officials in Guatemala denied the temporary visa on grounds that Aguilar "didn't have enough ties to his home country, Guatemala."
Aguilar said he last saw his daughter in 2005.
Police said she was kidnapped in a relative's SUV that was idling in the driveway on a morning before school. Authorities issued an Amber Alert at the time.
A witness saw a man dressed in black and wearing a yellow bandana force Hania into the vehicle. Police said they have no reason to think Hania knew her abductor, and her family is cooperating with the investigation.
The stolen SUV was found abandoned less than 10 miles from Hania's home at the Rosewood Mobile Home Park, authorities said.

According to the reports, she was 13 when abducted a month ago.
So he last saw her when she was an infant, 13 years ago.
He says they have spoken on the phone.
The kidnapping, rape and death of such a young child is tragic.

More stupid reporter tricks. We’re given “McLellan” as the suspect although it took a couple times of reading between the lines to figure that out. So, who is this “McLellan”? Must be like Cher or Prince who go by one name. No mug shot even though he was already in jail. No age or other description. Pitiful reporting, Lisa Givetash.
Exactly what a monster looks like. Is that a couple of teardrop tats? Each teardrop is a kill so he should have been in prison long before he raped and murdered a this child.

McLellan had already been in custody since Nov. 13, when he was arrested on charges stemming from a separate case.
According to the arrest warrant, McLellan was charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, second-degree kidnapping and attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon stemming from an incident on Oct. 15 in which he allegedly pointed a gun at a woman and attempted to steal her car and money.
The arrest warrants states that McLellan had already been convicted of a felony in 2007 after he committed a burglary while armed with a gun.
Since mid-November, McLellan had been housed at the Robeson County Detention Center. However, according to Fairmont Police Chief Jon Edwards, he was recently moved to the Central Prison in Raleigh due to misconduct.

Sorry that you lost your child, but if you didn’t see your 13 year old daughter in 13 YEARS, you don’t need to attend her funeral.
Let’s take this Child Raping/ Murdering scum guy, the Somali up in Minnesota that MURDERED the Australian lady and the lady cop in Dallas that Murdered Mr. Jean, the black guy in his own apartment and convict them all of minor charges for like six months in jail and put them all in the general population and let the inmates take care of the actual punishment. That way we don’t have to pay too much for it all to receive Justice.
