I too was a Cub Scout and Boy Scout back in the day. So sad to see that their “inclusiveness” has now destroyed them. They agreed to accept a little cancer that was intentionally and deceptively camouflaged as a moral good. That cancer is now taking its known path and destroying the host.
Apparently the queers are also now institutionalized in the organization formerly known as the BSA.
My Step-Granddaughter wants to join the Brownies, but she is being pushed to join the Cub Scouts...not by her Mother or her Stepdad, my son, the Eagle Scout.
As one who spent a serious part of my childhood and adult life in the BSA, I am sorry to say that it is dead to me! Eagle Scout has been a profound benefit to my son, but that process has been destroyed by the cowardly bastards at the top, who sold out to the queers and perverts!
They have sown the storm and are now reaping the whirlwind!
The Girl Scouts are still around, but the Left took them over a long time ago. The same is true for the Camp Fire Girls, once a competitor with the Girl Scouts. In the 1970's, they started admitting boys and changed their name to Camp Fire. They're still around and claim to have 150,000 members.
One group that is no longer around is the Indian Guides. When I was growing up, boys in my neighborhood would first join the Indian Guides, then the Cub Scouts, then the Boy Scouts. However, the Indian Guides, sponsored by the Young Men's Christian Association, was discontinued for being "racist" and practicing "cultural appropriation" despite having made millions of American boys aware of our nation's Indian heritage and doing charitable work on behalf of needy American Indian children.
I was in during the same timeframe. A wonderful and educational experience, that prepared me for adulthood.
When my son joined the Cubs, I became active again until he reached 18 and left as an Eagle Scout. Since then, the organization has been surrendered to the perverts and socialists.

Was the abuse cases of male homosexuals assaulting young boys? That was exactly what was predicted if they dropped the ban on homosexuals in the BSA.
No, it was the evil court system, and the evil media-weapon-system.
Those two things were how the vermin got into the BSA. Once they were in, it was predictable what would happen, but if they had been kept out, this wouldn't have happened.
Letting them in is the fault. They could have never destroyed it from within if other forces hadn't pushed the scouts into letting them in.

I feel most badly for my son’s. One earned Eagle two weeks before we left. He’s very disappointed with BSA and the legacy they squandered.
The other was almost at Eagle when we left. We offered to find him another troop to join to allow him to finish. He chose not to do that.
Instead, he helped build the new Trail Life Troop and ultimately earned Trail Life’s pinnacle Award, the Freedom Award. He’s the only one in our state to have earned it so far. It’s more challenging than Eagle to earn.

I have friends with kids that are in this new org and seem to be happy with the direction that it is taking. They left the BSA when it was apparent that they were removing American values from the program and were trying to force the gay/trans agenda on them.

The BSA attracted pedophiles who became leaders long before the change in policy. The result was the development and implementation of the BSA Youth Protection Training program that every registered adult must pass to be registered. BSA requires two deep action when dealing with boys. That is, when contact with boys is conducted, ter must alway be two leaders indirect involvement.
The BSA is an easy target for disgruntled parents and disreputable lawyers to garner large judgements.
If lawyers attacked churches and youth sports for pedophile action in the same manner as BSA there would be howls of public anguish. The jocks are not attacked because they have no money.

Causing the Council to fold beneath the Lawsuits...

I was lucky enough to be in and out during the early-mid 70’s. The times were good or at least they were for Me. Our Patrol did the usual Meetings, Weekend Camps for The Sam Houston Council, Troop 129, Flaming Arrow Patrol and the other 4 or 5 Patrols. We had great Summer Camp out off of The Devils Backbone at El Rancho Cima a bit East of Canyon Lake.
Mission Control NASA was still a hotbed of activity even though Project Lunar Apollo was coming to an end there was still Apollo/Soyuz and Skylab. Also the Shuttle Program was starting up. Anyway Troop 129 was into the Space Programs and My Father worked for American Airlines. For The National Jamboree in 1973 The Houston Area Council split for Travel 1/2 of Us took 4 Buses up to Idaho via the Grand Canyon, Salt Lake City and More stops for Camping while the other 1/2 flew on 2 Chartered AA 707’s and on the way back We swapped Transportation. My Father was doing Freight and Passenger Charters. I chose to take the Bus up and Flew back because I knew I was going to be worn out.

Our Pack and Troop, with which have been involved for 15 years, are carrying on pretty much as usual.
