The Windy Tucker Carlson Said He Cannot Stand Trump's Self-aggrandizement and Boasting

From an article in the Washington Post the other day:

Tucker Carlson says Trump is ‘not capable’ and hasn’t kept his promises

washingtonpost.com ^ | December 6, 2018 | Deanna Paul

*****************

Vanity:

"Carlson said he cannot stand Trump’s self-aggrandizement and boasting.'

______________________

Speaking as one who will vote for and heavily support DJT in the future, one thing must be said.

The President will have a much more difficult time winning a second term if he doesn't make some adjustments that are addressed in the quoted remark above.

His never ending BOASTING is losing him millions of votes.

To quickly change that (loss of votes) is quite simple.

Examples: 1. Instead of saying "I WON this ...." he should always say, WE won this for the country" .... 2. "TOGETHER WE created the strongest economy for our country and its people" etc., etc.

***********

I know that there are many here who respond by saying , "he has to tweet, he has to get his news out, the MSM won't". That is true, let him tweet all he wants, but the problem is simply the wording of the tweets and all his remarks concerning his accomplishments.

He must REMOVE the word "I" when talking about accomplishments. Everyone knows he's the center of the successful achievement.

If his constant boasting bothers even me, I can see how gross it is to those who have doubts about him to begin with.

(Women, as a rule, do not like men who find the need to brag after they have succeeded at something.)

If D.J.T. wants a second term he has to get rid of the word "I", and speak of his accomplishments for the country ...NOT AS "WINS" but as "achievements or successful efforts" for the good people of America.

# 28. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of “separation of church and state.”

I disagree. If Trump were a normal politician you would be correct, he should trim his sales not to antagonize one group or another.

In Trump’s case I disagree. POTUS is the original WYSIWYG
He tries to be a bit gentler for people who are not used to the battlefield but that is about it.

If people care more about appearance than results, if they judge by propriety not forthrightness they will never get Trump & they don’t understand the dynamics of American exceptionalism or the factions that have been sucking her dry and betraying her sovereignty. Such people need to get over themselves and think about what is good for the Country. They need to ask themselves whether POTUS is telling the truth about his accomplishments and if anyone else would tell that truth. They need to ask themselves if anyone else would have been able to stand firm and fight for our Country as he has.

They need to understand that we are at war and America can be defeated while people quibble about superficial things.

Tucker is just wrong. Trump routinely thanks the voters for what they’ve done. Routinely uses we

...

I agree. I think he’s made it clear that the reason he ran was for the American people. And look at what he gave up to be president. He could have lived out his life in carefree luxury.

I wonder if there are infiltrators on FR trying to cause trouble.

Everyone it’s starting to quietly walk away from Trump knowing he will be impeached and “Conservatives” are tired of the disruptive aspects of Trump and simply want to go back to the “good ole times”.

They’re expecting to lose in 2020 and frankly have no problem with that. They expect the lemmings of the GOP to still come back. I mean... What other option is there, right?

Unless we become the yellow vest brigade of our country, this will continue.

I find it hard to believe Carlson said this about Trump. Or. at least the way it is being reported.

I plan to vote for Trump again, but some of his verbiage does grate on my nerves. He ought to be more circumspect when talking about those who have left his administration. An example is calling Rex Tillerson dumb. POTUS could just as easily have said he and Rex did not agree on some major aspects of the policies, so they went separate ways.

Calling people stupid is not a way to win friends and influence people. Reagan would have been much more diplomatic about it.

My point is simply pragmatic. He already has loyal votes from those of us who look past the bluster. Would he lose us if he eased his tone just a bit? No. He would not, but he would more likely gain votes from those who find his tone offputting. Now you can advise those folks to look past the personality, but people aren’t likely to take that advice simply because we think they should. Nevertheless, we need those votes!

You know, we disliked it when Obama kept going on about how much he personally did something. People were actually count the number of times he referred to himself in his speeches. It was a big joke.

Trump can and should continue to defend himself of course, and I disagree with Tucker’s point about Trump not knowing how to get things done. However, no one really likes a braggart. It’s off putting and frankly childish, and I guarantee it’s going to needlessly cost Trump votes.

Tucker Carlson and Laura Ingraham are both EXPERTS on how Trump should act.

When did they run and win the presidency? Maybe they should run as a ticket in 2020. /s

Tucker Carlson is another media person who had potential to be an interesting contrast to the steady decline of FOX programing which is now more left than right. His own remarks are a judgment on himself as well as Pres Trump. All you post is spot on about Carlson and Pres Trump. The pres is his own media and quite necessary because the citizens of this country would not know what he has accomplished if he did not bring it to their attention. I despise Carlson and the other No Trumpers who, if they are as smart as they think they are, know that the alternative to him is the replacement of this Republic with a one world govt. No boarders and no freedom as we Americans now enjoy. Carlson will go the way of the Weekly Standard.

Thank you for your courteous reply.

When I listen to POTUS and I listen to almost every speech, press conference, address to the Nation, statements at signings, before meetings etc what I hear is someone who speaks a great deal about other people’s accomplishments, the great things they have done & how valuable their efforts have been. I hear that over & over again. I hear a man who gives others credit and sometimes IMO gives them credit he could have taken himself. POTUS wants the results more than the credit.

I do hear what the President himself has accomplished and I hear him say that no one else could have accomplished it. I hear his pleasure in things that worked out well “a really good deal” “an improvement in relations with NK that has been tried without success for decades”. He often says “I am a great deal maker”. He’s right about all those things. They are not boasts and no one else has or could have accomplished as much against these odds.

Who else would tell that truth, who would put it into context if POTUS did not? Don’t people need to know, the press is ready to give credit to Obama, to dumb luck, to discredit the worth of these accomplishments. Would you trade the knowledge of what these things really mean for America so you could avoid the embarrassment of watching someone praise his own accomplishments?

It’s blunt reality that no one else will tell the American people & they need to know to make good voting decisions. They can get the truth from him or do without. If it makes them uncomfortable to hear it from him they can get used to that and understand why it must be that way or they can become Europe and eventually a one Nation hedgemony.
