President Donald Trump has solidified his suggestion that the U.S. military will build the wall along the southern border, as the chances of Congress passing funding for the project by the Dec. 21 deadline shrinks.
“Because of the tremendous dangers at the Border, including large scale criminal and drug inflow, the United States Military will build the Wall!” Trump wrote in a Dec. 19 tweet.
The Pentagon has backed Trump, acknowledging there is a legal option to use military funds for border barriers, although also saying there’s no plan in place to do so.
“To date, there is no plan to build sections of the wall,” Pentagon spokesman Army Lt. Col. Jamie Davis said in a Dec. 12 statement, CNBC reported. “However, Congress has provided options under Title 10 U.S. Code that could permit the Department of Defense to fund border barrier projects, such as in support of counter-drug operations or national emergencies.”
Trump has asked Congress for $5 billion for the wall, but has faced a unified opposition from the Democrats and even from some Republicans.

I stated that idea 2 years ago. Put a bounty on every of the wetbacks who cross and citizens make $5000, easy peasy. All you have to do is carry them to processing centers for your check.
Trump is done and over...if he runs and that is a BIG if he will not win...

When he gets the Wall the Dems running for President will campaign to tear it down , LOL
Pres. Trump has never had a Congress that supports him and the voters who elected him.
So if Trump ever had hope that Congress would fund wall until Mexico pays for it, Mexico paying for wall either directly or indirectly, then Trump is hopefully wiser for the disappointment.
Remember in November 2020! Patriots need to elect a patriot Congress that actually supports Trump.
Then the Republican Party is over. I can’t see me ever voting GOPe again after Trump.
I don’t trust the Cruzers
That guy is a deep state snake masquerading as an “outsider”. He showed his true colors in 2016. And I did support his senate race in the general. However it was keep the seat (R) not because I believe or trust Cruz
Here’s what’s missing: why won’t the current Republican majority support the President in getting the wall funded? Who, specifically is blocking this?
All we’re getting is that “it can’t be done”. Normally, the President names names, skylines the bad actors in Tweets but we’re not seeing that.
I’m deeply disappointed that he’s folded like this. The “military” doesn’t build walls - more likely he’s looking at the Pentagon as a vehicle for contracts.
But I seriously doubt that the massive 5-sided Puzzle Palace can do it well or quickly.
My guess? The Swamp got something on him and he’s been forced to back away.
I agree, I am voting Trump in 2020, either under the (R) ticket or as a write in. I am voting for him. No more GOPee on the national ticket for me. They don’t deserve it.
Providing border security is not the same as misusing 5b in military appropriations to be built by the military. To build the wall The House must originate the appropriations. The senate must also approve.
The Cruz crowd does hold a grudge.
The GOP has been over since Nixon, they are no different than the Dems..

Trump has a full team of Lawyers who actually research these issues, if that was the case I doubt they would even consider it. Besides, where would they get 67 votes in the Senate to convict over a wall?
just like we should have done in 2018. I have been through these wait till next election a dozen times. Time for a third party. The gop is indeed dem lite.
