So much bullchit in this article. Either the republicans in the house or the senate can easily target, cut, and gut appropriations for any agency and any position in any agency if they have gone off the rails. They can eliminate whole sections of agencies and restructure them. It has been done many times in the past. Usually the threat is enough.

Here we have DOJ and the FBI telling Congress to stick it and there is not a single appropriation consequence.

Anyone who wants you to believe that republicans in Congress are not FULLY behind this farce is full of it. The “conservatives” who you see regularly decrying Justice are the ones milking it the most.

All farce and theater by every single Republican, without exception. This, by the way, includes the OMB director and the President.

I agree with you as well that all of the feral government is complicit and this little experiment needs to have a serious look at.

Could have. Now the GOP is in the minority, so any power like that they lost in the House.

As we are seeing, the Senate is pretty dysfunctional for the GOP too.
