There were 20 heavily armed guys at your door asking nicely for your weapon, to be turned over to them in the name of law as an effort of a government that wanted to calm down a chaotic situation.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
If so, politely request to see a court order of seizure and confiscation. Try to get a copy of it duly signed, along with the supporting signed affidavit if there is one.
No sense having a shoot out resulting in death, unless you have a whole gang of patriots with you. Larger numbers can make the police back down.
The 2nd amendment survives because of Freedom of Assembly and Freedom to travel.
Whatever you do, do not navigate so the seizure can be done in secret without public scrutiny.
That works when there are only a few people here and there with guns.
But with conservative estimates of about 1/3 of Americans owning guns - that's more than 100 million gun owners with 300+ million guns and a trillion rounds of ammo, and the news of confiscation occurring at the speed of electrons - don't see his scenario as sustainable.
Luckily, I'm not one of those gun-owners, so....
His first premise is incorrect. I quit reading right there. The man is an idiot
“We didn’t find anything illegal, But for your safety and our safety we are taking them all to the station and you can come pick them up there”.
2 years and 20,000 dollars in attorney fees later... Maybe...
When the government tells you you don’t need those guns; that’s when you need those guns the most.
I find it ironic that someone so concerned with gun rights would voluntarily move to a country where there are ... none.
Over 150,000,000 Americans have guns behind locked doors.
If the government ever chose to take those guns by force, a shooting war would erupt and we’d soon be forming a new government.
In my family, the men and women carry. The trend in America is towards constitutional carry and ownership and use. The author is missing these key points, and more. The occurance of wild animal attacks is up in america, more people carry for self defense than ever. Firearms confiscation will never occur in America.
Suppositional. Selco brings a fresh look to our situation, but does not complete the story. If confiscation takes place, I believe it will be isolated pockets deep in liberal territories.
It may not be Communism, or even particularly “progressive”, but gun confiscation is the first step to some kind of “command-and-control” type of ideology, and totally antithetical to any version of freedom and personal liberty.
“Surrender, Dorothy!”
Between the Wicked Witch and the Wizard, Oz was anything but a representative republic.
Bttt
20 bad guys showing up at your front door doing the second act of General Gage is gonna result in a few gun fights.
Won’t happen, unless they want to go against the world’s biggest armed force in the world, which is millions and millions of deer hunters against less than one million armed LEO.
that ain’t happening.
Practice my rights?
Nope.
I have more of that stuff. Its not worth it to fight over the one they know about.
Besides the unfortunate boating accident....
There will be a lot of government-initiated SWAT calls saying someone has serious concerns.......
Social Credit Score. Owning a gun will reduce your SCS below the level that permits you to purchase ,say, gasoline or airplane tickets. You will be offered a way to increase your score by turning in your guns. The score will continue to decline if you continue to keep your guns to the point that food purchases get a surcharge and becomes too expensive for you to buy. This is all being brought to you by China and Google and Apple. It will be put in place along with the banning of non electronic money.
That would rile too many people up in the foreseeable future I think. Seems like their best plan is just to wait until we are much farther down the cultural slope and to keep as many people as possible obese and super-entertained in the meantime. Eventually only a very small % will be able to imagine getting off the couch much less willing to fight to keep their guns.
