"this will not happen here."

Famous last words.

There are 150 million gun owners in this country. They possess an estimated 400 million firearms.

Do you honestly believe they'd surrender to a government force that is ten times smaller? Do you really think they wouldn't shoot back?

The “Teams of marksmen” have rifles. WIll they slaughter each other?

Are we supposed to think that the government “marksmen” are the good guys and the citizens the bad guys?

Unfortunately, times have changed, and if the cops pull up to your house with an armored vehicle I think most would comply.

This would not probably happen for at least 8 - 10 years. Ad that to your current age to factor in how much urban combat you'll have left in you.

“No, this will not happen here.”

It’ll happen many times before resistance becomes organized enough to counter it.

This is really a military action, not a police one.

In quite a few "favelas" in Brazil, the government is the organized and armed criminal gangs.

This is the elected government of Brazil asserting its authority.

It is what governments do.

This is no different than the Afghan government attempting to take control of the 50% of the country they have no control over.

Sure, if we're only talking about one house. How would the government go about disarming a whole block? A whole neighborhood? A whole city? A whole state?

Its ludicrous to even contemplate. The manpower for such a thing does not exist.

Also consider - if the government were to target the entire population in that way, it would be seen by one and all as the ultimate act of treason, and would compel an overwhelming response of force by the citizens.

Indeed.

And, gee, I wonder if the American Left would ever try this on citizens.

Might someone have a rifle for legitimate self-defense purposes in a violent area?

==========

It will and sooner than most think.

They'll try the carrot and stick approach first and try to buy you out. Then they'll use armored vehicles on the holdouts who they will crush piecemeal and without mercy.

But it is happening now, early stages.

Certain sizes of magazines are banned. States keep trying to ban “assault weapons.”

Though I think his position will be reversed, probably by him, the President has banned bumpstocks.

California, Washington, Oregon, Indiana and Connecticut have statutes in placed that can be used to temporarily take guns away from people a judge deems a threat to themselves or others-—before any crime at all has been committed.

These things happen in two ways: first gradually, then suddenly.

"During Barrack presidency more than 400 million firearms were bought by civilians in the United States of America. That is more than the army, navy, airforce and marines own, combined. No, this will not happen here."

But since Obama's time in office, Democrat legislators have indicated that they will work as a monolithic bloc to outlaw firearms. What will happen the next time that we see a Democrat president and a Democrat majority in both houses of Congress? It's obvious from the rashes of opinions that we're seeing in regards to U.S. defense, that too many Americans no longer have a will to fight.

And remember those who were arrested and prosecuted during the '90s for minor reasons, one by one, with photos of their firearms and ammunition laid out on tables for the media?

There are now many very influential constituents (including billionaires) pushing politicians for gun control, because they want to suppress other freedoms. Matter of fact, their anger is obvious to all by now.

"Rio will be a proving ground for Bolsonaro’s philosophy of maximum force..."

It may well be a trial for a global undertaking.

You’re not thinking logically.

Can you clearly visualize 150 million armed citizens? I doubt it. It’s a number larger than the entire population of most countries, but that is how many citizens the government would be faced with forcibly disarming, under your scenario.

Come to grips with the fact that there are only 1.5 active military members under arms, and such a task is downright suicidal.

The armed American public is the largest such force on the planet. It dwarfs the militaries of every nation combined.

We cannot be disarmed by force, which is why it has never been attempted. We can only be disarmed through trickery, deceit, and a slow and gradual process of reduction.

That is the preferred solution of the globalist left, because they’re keenly aware of all of the above. If they can figure this out, why can’t you?

Yup, you get it...

I train heavily and if you aren’t moving in an urban (many other types too)firefight, your chances of becoming a casualty are greatly increased.

I guess a bunch of old fat guys could hole up and throw a lot of lead in a last stand, but that will be their first and last fire fight.

If you don’t ‘shoot and scoot’ in an urban environment when facing superior fire power, fire will be concentrated on you and you will die.

They're going to force us into CWII, and that will be the end of leftism in America.
