They helped us against Assad and against ziSIS.

Unlike the murdering enslaving pig savages the Turks, they never created an empire on stealing other people’s children and turning people against one another

Absolutely.

The idiot Brits and Frogs interfered with Russia’s plans to eliminate these pigs years ago.

We should work with them to do it now.

They are prone to do that while wearing explosive vests ...

“They helped us against Assad and against ziSIS.”

So send them a Christmas card. No more troops.

When a nation is STUPID enough to abandon its allies in THEIR time of trouble, that nation will soon find itself with no allies in ITS time of trouble

BUT, THEN, America has demonstrated it has no dearth of stupid people, right?

Merry Christmas.

When a nation is STUPID enough to get involved in every war across the planet, that nation will soon find itself with no allies in ITS time of trouble.

This article raises a few interesting possibilities.

- Maybe the Turks are only going into Manbij (and likely the rest of the area West of the Euphrates). That could leave a cohesive and more defensible Rojava East of the Euphrates, including Kobani, The Tabqa Dam controlling the Euphrates River’s water, and the richest oil fields of Syria. Also a strategic location to cut the land route between Syria and Iraq (onward to Iran).

It could be the cost of accommodation with Turkey, fulfilling Erdogan’s long announced Objective to take the territory West of the Euphrates (Operation Euphrates Shield). With Afrin now gone, there is much less strategic imperative for the Kurds to push to link up. Without those two issues, there would be much less drive to engage, and a much better chance of a stable settlement. End Game.

- Maybe France will step up to fill some of the gap left by the US East of the Euphrates. They have been deeply engaged in the fight there. Long term, the Kurds would be better off developing multiple powerful allies like France and Gulf Arabs, rather than relying solely on US support (which could be lost in one election night).

Supporting an ally of ours against a dangerous nation of Islamist pigs is not getting into every war across the globe.

Islamist pigs having been fighting wars for 1000 years.

Guess what they’ll be doing for the next 1000 years.

We don’t have the people or the money for it anymore.

That would be unfortunate because their real goal is US once they eliminate mire rational competition in their own religious ranks.

I know.

And we’re losing that war.

One place where we’re losing is at our southern border. Terrorists coming in thru there.

Big changes need to happen.

Nothing against the Kurds, but I’m sure we’ve done a lot more for them then they have done for us.

So we don’t “owe” them anything. Just the opposite.

1. Too many Turkish Kurds are communist terrorists.
2. The US promised to help the Iraqi Kurds for their work against Saddam on our behalf. Then Saddam gassed them and no finger was lifted.
3. There needs to be a Kurdistan carved out of Turkey and Iraq.

“The US promised to help the Iraqi Kurds for their work against Saddam on our behalf. Then Saddam gassed them and no finger was lifted.”

Completely wrong.

1. It’s NOT the USA’s fault Saddam gassed the Kurds.
2. We went into Iraq, found Saddam, and killed him. At considerable cost to the USA.

“3. There needs to be a Kurdistan carved out of Turkey and Iraq.”

Fine, whatever, as long as it doesn’t cost USA anything.

Yes
I am a long time proponent of the Kurds being able to have some good borders where the should be established
They have been squeezed by the nations mentioned out of their homeland
The only reason we should ever go backinto that area would be to help them organize
Their country

The Kurd will never cede Manbij like Efrin.

They will choose death first, I do not believe that is an overstatement.

No appeasement will quiet Erdogan’s ambitions.

This will be a fight to the death. If someone gives the Kurds the right smart weapons, they will beat Turkey.

Erdogan’s death vs Kurds death. That is what this will come to.

“No appeasement will quiet Erdogan’s ambitions.”

That is a good point.

There has to be something that compels him.
