Shares of the ailing department store chain JCP, +6.10% crashed on Thursday, dipping as low as 92 cents before closing down 7.5%, at 97 cents — the first time they’ve ever closed below a dollar since the company went public in the late 1970s. [Shares remained below $1 Friday morning.]

Sears too. Sears has been a ‘sick old man’ for the last 25 years. A sister of mine worked for them in Michigan back in the 1990’s. Even then, she was appalled at the disorganization, the disregard they seemed to have for their workers.

Our local JC Penny is the same as it’s always been, well managed, easy to use, well stocked. If they all were like this they’d be full of traffic the this one is every time I visit.

It’s an excellent store and my favorite in our area.

Ours is the best store in the entire mall. It’s always been really well managed seems to me. Maybe they should put that guy in charge of the whole shooting match. Lines at the registers were wrapped around the aisles before Christmas.
