NIAMEY (Reuters) - Troops and air strikes have killed more than 280 Boko Haram militants since the Niger government started an operation against the group last week, the defense ministry said.

Boko Haram has attacked Niger, Chad and Cameroon from its base in northeast Nigeria, where it has been fighting for more than nine years to carve out an Islamist caliphate.

Niger’s defense ministry said in a statement on Wednesday that the army mounted a sweep operation against the group last Friday along the southeastern Komadugu river, which separates Niger from Nigeria.

More than 200 militants were “neutralized” by air strikes and 87 were killed by Nigerien troops on the ground, it said.

Yes, it’s a good start. Those Boko Harum scum need to be completely eradicated and it’s going to take more than just Mooch holding up hashtag signs, though a picture of her would cause them to writhe in agony for a spell.

Maybe we can get back to an old style CIA where they ran guns and intel to the good guys overseas and weren’t traitors to the US.

“No bag limit and open season all year ‘round on those.”

Notice what is not in the article? The number wounded or taken prisoner. This implies that once caught, the enemy is executed. This represents a tacit understanding that the enemy can’t be reformed. It must be eradicated.

It will be some time before Western culture comes to this. But, if Western culture fails to recognize this truth then Western culture will eventually be destroyed or so changed as to be unrecognizable. History shows that you either adopt the winning tactics of the enemy or you lose.

We in America don’t have to inflict this fight on ourselves. Simply stop Islam from invading or spreading on US shores. That way America can remain civilized. But, obviously, that isn’t going to happen.

By the time the West realizes what the solution must be, it will have irrevocably changed into something that is, of necessity, less civilized than it was. It will take centuries to recover from Islam, if ever.

My wild arse guess: the intel on this was handled by US armed forces.
