French officials evidently understand that the terrorists are engaged in a long war and that it will be difficult to stop them; so they seem to have given in. These officials are no doubt aware that young French Muslims are being radicalized in increasing numbers. The response, however, has been to strengthen Muslim institutions in France.
At the time President Macron was speaking, one of his emissaries was in Morocco to sign the UN Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration, which defines immigration as "beneficial" for the host countries. Under it, signatory states pledge to "strengthen migrant-inclusive service delivery systems."
A group of retired generals published an open letter, saying that signing the Global Compact was a further step towards "the abandonment of national sovereignty" and noted that "80% of the French population think that immigration must be halted or regulated drastically".
The author Éric Zemmour described the "yellow vests" revolt as the result of the "despair of people who feel humiliated, forgotten, dispossessed of their own country by the decisions of a contemptuous caste".

It is a long read, but worth it. If you don't read it all, just skip to the last two paragraphs.

Most Western European countries, as well as the US/Canada, are in the same boat; the natives won’t produce the next generation, so the elites just import one.
Very good article. Thanks for posting. Instead of vacationing in France, guess Ill go to Syria. Is there a difference?
Governments in general represent the people who administer them, not the people who elected them. Thus, government salaries and benefits are usually better than you would find among the great unwashed masses. But occasionally, as in the Leftists who love government, they embark on some bizarre ideological/quasi-religious insanity like bringing Muslims over who are not good for either the unwashed electorate or the governmental elites. One wonders what the elites envision as the end game, forty years hence when all of government has been replaced by foaming-at-the-mouth Muslims. As far as the great unwashed masses are concerned, there is no difference between the present “French” governmental elite and the forty-years hence crowd who will encourage on-the-street shootings of non-Muslim French. (Heck, they’re almost doing that now.)
I pity the French, as this has gone much too far to stop now without much bloodshed. And, as long as the French have a welfare state they will be unable to stop immigration, legal or otherwise.
Watch France carefully, folks. This is one possible future for the United States if we let the leftists run wild in our Federal and state governments. California is already an example of France but since the US has other states, people have the choice to move versus having to have armed conflict with these horrible liberals.

that would describe those of us who voted for Trump and are increasingly appalled by the behavior of the newly elected Democrat Kongress dipsh!ts and for that matter anyone in the Democrat party.
You should look up the history and the lyrics to La Marseillaise. They sing this national anthem to the police.
France seems to always be on the sap side of things
Bring out the guillotine, these bastards sold out their country men. The European mirror is facing in our direction and we can see what is in our future.
No, not by a long shot
Europeans today are the dregs of the genepool. The strong man genes evolving over thousands of years were destroyed by two WW’s
USA and Canada had no such gene pool degradation
It has nothing to do with not producing enough people. Look at the labor participation rates. It is all about cheap labor and globalization to generate more profit for the corporate paymasters.
In the US the Dems want to transform the electorate. Immigrants and minorities vote more than two to one Dem. In 1990 the population of the US was 249 million; in 2000 we had 281 million; and today, we are now at about 330 million. We have a surplus of labor that will only grow due to automation, immigration, and outsourcing of jobs overseas.

Social support for migrants, legal or not, adds to the cost of an increasingly expensive welfare system. France today is the most highly taxed country in the developed world: compulsory levies correspond to more than 45% of GDP. Unemployment is high at 9.1%. Typical salaries are both low and stagnant. A public school teacher starting out earns 1,794 euros per month ($2,052). A police officer after a year of service earns even less: 1,666 euros per month ($1,906).
