I don't have a television so I have no idea how much coverage the yellow vests are getting on the MSM. I watch the demonstrations live every Saturday but this essay gives an excellent overview and chronilogical summary of events.
It is a long read, but worth it. If you don't read it all, just skip to the last two paragraphs.

Governments in general represent the people who administer them, not the people who elected them. Thus, government salaries and benefits are usually better than you would find among the great unwashed masses. But occasionally, as in the Leftists who love government, they embark on some bizarre ideological/quasi-religious insanity like bringing Muslims over who are not good for either the unwashed electorate or the governmental elites. One wonders what the elites envision as the end game, forty years hence when all of government has been replaced by foaming-at-the-mouth Muslims. As far as the great unwashed masses are concerned, there is no difference between the present “French” governmental elite and the forty-years hence crowd who will encourage on-the-street shootings of non-Muslim French. (Heck, they’re almost doing that now.)
I pity the French, as this has gone much too far to stop now without much bloodshed. And, as long as the French have a welfare state they will be unable to stop immigration, legal or otherwise.

Watch France carefully, folks. This is one possible future for the United States if we let the leftists run wild in our Federal and state governments. California is already an example of France but since the US has other states, people have the choice to move versus having to have armed conflict with these horrible liberals.

This article is very informative. One of the best I've seen yet. It alludes to this in a tangential way. There is less and less middle class jobs as you have the elites and the very poor. The reason being is government intervention in the economy with high taxes and plenty of government goodies to the immigrants. Poor people in developed countries don't feel they have the resources to marry and have children. It's a deadly spiral.
All of the defenders of these immigration policies look to the past as to how countries welcomed immigrants (like the U.S.) before. What the pro immigrant defenders fail to mention is that back then the immigrants coming in where expected to contribute to society in making it grow and not be a burden on the society by sucking up it's social services.

I hate to say it, but there needs to be some type of coup de'etat in France in order to change things. When done against a duly elected government it is a terrible precedent to be set. The next time done it is far easier. However, when that duly elected government is governing against the will of it's sovereign citizens, well sometimes...

The only problem this carries is that most change of governments in this fashion do not turn out well. We in America had the great good fortune to have revolutionaries who were just and wise men. The majority of the time, the ones that come to power are not.

It has nothing to do with not producing enough people. Look at the labor participation rates. It is all about cheap labor and globalization to generate more profit for the corporate paymasters.
In the US the Dems want to transform the electorate. Immigrants and minorities vote more than two to one Dem. In 1990 the population of the US was 249 million; in 2000 we had 281 million; and today, we are now at about 330 million. We have a surplus of labor that will only grow due to automation, immigration, and outsourcing of jobs overseas.
