The Arizona resident awoke to discover four home intruders attempting to break into his house around 1:00 a.m. on January 3. The resident shot all four intruders using “several” rounds, according to authorities.

There was an article a few months back about a similar break in and defensive shooting. This is the new threat. Multiple assailants, not just a single burglar. Update your home defense strategies accordingly. Stay prepared.
From the article he shot them inside the home after warning them that the home was occupied.

However, I'd hesitate on a Mozambique Drill with four bad guys. That's 12 rounds total, but my house gun is a Glock 26 with 10 rounds. I carry a Glock 19 15 round magazine on the belt for a reload, but I can't speed load in 1.2 seconds like an IPSC shooter.

Could be somebody (perhaps one of the perps) got a look at the inside of the house, say while making a delivery or installation, and told his pals. Lots of burglary casing goes on that way.
