this is now crunch time for the wall. The gop is not in the habit of being able to take the heat. If they just stay with Trump, he will show them how to win!

...POTUS still has strong support in the Senate...

Hopefully. I am watching and waiting for that supposedly stronger Senate to take a stand. Flake replaced by Romney was not a gain.

The Senate majority is not huge by any means. A little better than last session now that Flake and Corker are gone. He still has veto power though, and not enough opposition to over ride him in the Senate. It’s a shame Bannon had to fight POTUS in Alabama over Luther Strange or we’d have one more on our side.

This reminds me of a lecture I heard once on the topic “Having the Courage of Your Convictions.” The speaker made the point that courage and convictions are inexorably linked, and if you lack one you prove that you lack the other as well. On the other hand if you have courage OR convictions you will demonstrate both. The thing this whole discussion demonstrates (actually the GOPe perfidy for the past two generations) is that by showing they have no courage the Repukelikins reveal they have no convictions. It’s not that they are merely cowards, but they are our enemies.

True. I hope POTUS can keep Romney in line.

They will come back around when needed

Ultimately it’s voters that count. It will take awhile for voter sentiment to be accurately measured.

I hate the Republican Rats as much a I do their Dim counterparts.

Weak, vacillating, sold out to the highest bidder. There is a rock solid contingent of conservatives in the House, of course, but so many of the Repukes are guided by a wet finger held up in the wind.

They’re pathetic.

I was hoping that all the Rinos went out the door with the Rino Speaker.

If they had Jordon would be Minority leader.

“Several dozen House Republicans might cross the aisle this week to vote for Democratic bills to reopen shuttered parts of the federal government, spurring the White House into a dramatic effort to stem potential GOP defections”

And what, pray tell, is Kevin McCarthy doing to “stem defections”? Is he telling every microphone stuck in his face that he is backing Trump 100% and then whispering in the ears of his Nervous Nellie caucus colleagues that they can do whatever they want to do regarding the wall?

“I suspect McCarthy is going to prove to be a very weak House Minority Leader. We are after all talking about an elected California Republican. His long history of Chamber of Commerce stoogery is well documented.”

You’re right. It’s like a recurring nightmare: Boehner, Ryan, McCarthy.

“Please make it stop!!!”

I guess people don’t understand that the House GOP is now irrelevant, and in terms of the shutdown, the Senate GOP is irrelevant too.

Unless they think they will get a funding resolution with a veto proof majority (ain’t gonna happen in either house), they can flap their pieholes all they want.

I hereby pledge $500.00 to any viable candidate to primary out any Republic Congressman or Senator that breaks ranks on the Border Barrier.

I’ve done the math and it could cost me up to $9K. I am just sick and tired of the GOP and it’s inability to hold the line.

Even if they loose to a Democrat. There isn’t any strategic advantage in those districts/Senate seats staying Republican if they won’t support our President on this issue particularly.

I NEVER believe ANYTHING the media prints or says. However, I know some RINOs have no GUTS, are merely paper dolls or creampuffs.
