Full title: Gregg Jarrett: Why Rosenstein’s departure will help restore the rule of law at the Justice Department

Reports Wednesday by Fox News and others that rogue Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein is expected to resign in several weeks – soon after William Barr is confirmed by the Senate as our nation’s next attorney general – mean that the Justice Department is headed for badly needed reforms.

Under the failed leadership of fired Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Rosenstein, the department has been operating more like the Department of Injustice in its handling of the out-of-control and ever-expanding Russia probe led by Special Counsel Robert Mueller and overseen by Rosenstein. And that’s only one example of Rosenstein’s misconduct.

Rosenstein has been the de facto attorney general almost since the outset of the Trump administration. Throughout his tenure, Rosenstein manipulated and supplanted the feckless Sessions, who served as attorney general in name only.

At the helm, Rosenstein engineered and presided over signal abuses at the Justice Department, transforming the rule of law into the rule of lawlessness.

Rosenstein championed abusive double standards of enforcement and ignored wrongdoing in his own department and the FBI. Under his leadership, justice took a back seat to petty partisanship at the Justice Department.

More egregiously, Rosenstein was an active participant in one of dirtiest tricks perpetrated in modern politics – targeting the president of the United States without legal cause or evidence.

In May of 2017, Rosenstein volunteered to craft a memorandum to President Trump citing all the justified reasons that then-FBI Director James Comey should be fired for usurping the power of the attorney general and violating Justice Department and FBI rules with impunity.

Great summation by Greg Jarrett. But the bottom line is, when Rosenstein is gone, they'll rub their hands together and say 'There, that's the end of that. We'll never let this happen again...'

And it'll be done without laying a glove on any of these lawless scoundrels who should be spending their ends-of-days behind bars.

Barr is close personal friends with Herr Mueller.

Me thinks Linda Grahamnasty scammed Trump into this nominee.

A very nice and probably not complete listing of Rosenstein’s conduct. At the least he’ll be debarred.

The evidence for prosecution is out there “for any reasonable prosecutor”. We’ll see if and when that happens. America needs a good show trial, something a little more fundamental than the OJ trial.

Gregg is far more optimistic than I am.

Yes it is a good summation and no doubt he deserves to be prosecuted and debarred.

It looks like it’ll be up to the next Attorney General whether it’s Bill Barr or someone else.

The fact that a high treason co-conspirator can choose when to resign and with full benefits means we have no rule of law left.

I wish. If he leaves it’s because he knows Barr will carry on.

Well, no. Rule of law will not be restored until a bunch of these guys are incarcerated. The joke of firing them or forcing them to resign so they can go to a big law/lobbying firm for multiples of their government salary is a reward, not a punishment.

Does anyone else still have trouble with Gregg Jarrett? I’m sorry, when I hear him speak, I tuneout.

With Barr coming in? With Mueller running wild? Snort, the Justice Dept. doesn’t know the meaning of rule of law.

Among all the talking heads, Jarrett is one of the few that has got it somewhat right. He wasn’t buying into huber or horowitz riding to the rescue.

“I find Gregg Jarrett one of the most well informed investigative journalists on our side.”

He is. I don’t know if he’s sober yet but he seems to be very well tuned in. If that asshole Hannity would let him finish a sentence without interrupting then he comes across as extremely articulate and concise in his explanations.
