Americans blame Trump and GOP much more than Democrats for shutdown, Post-ABC poll finds (Fake News)
Washington Post ^ | January13, 2019 | Scott Clement and Dan Balz

Posted on 01/12/2019 11:09:25 PM PST by Zakeet

By a wide margin, more Americans blame President Trump and Republicans in Congress than congressional Democrats for the now record-breaking government shutdown, and most reject the president’s assertion that there is an illegal-immigration crisis on the southern border, according to a Washington Post-ABC News poll.

Support for building a wall on the border, which is the principal sticking point in the stalemate between the president and Democrats, has increased over the past year. Today, 42 percent say they support a wall, up from 34 percent last January. A slight majority of Americans (54 percent) oppose the idea, down from 63 percent a year ago.

The Lamestream Fake Media is getting desperate ... to cook up such an obvious push poll that blatantly contradicts other legitimate polls, and then peddle this crap as front page news indicates that they are out of bullets and have been relegated to throwing rocks and bottles.

The poll was conducted of “Americans”, NOT voters. So how many were illegals?

The actual survey question was “Who do you think is mainly responsible for the federal government shutdown?”

Not who or what you blame, support or oppose.

I bet many republicans and independents would say Trump is mainly responsible, and bless him for for working so hard to get the right things done, the right way with the right tools, all while exposing the opposition for what it is.

It would not have happened without him.

Secure the borders.

Then we can let the non-essential, shutdown part of the federal government go back to being non-essential.

Good point. And the assumption by the WaPo is that everyone believes a shutdown is a bad thing.

Love how the Amazon Post phrases almost 10% more support for the wall.

all those liberals polled by the WP are morons that don’t give a crap about securing our nation- who cares what they think? People with common sense know full well it is the democrats who are continuing this shutdown because they can’;t stand giving trump anything he asks for- and they are willing to risk our national security to oppose him and keep the shutdown going

more fake news:

11 Jan: Widely cited study of fake news retracted by researchers
By Lilly Dancyger, Rolling Stone
Last year, a study was published in the Journal of Human Behavior, explaining why fake news goes viral on social media...
The study sought to determine the role of short attention spans and information overload in the spread of fake news...

Because of an error in processing their findings, their results showed that the simplified model was able to reproduce the real-life numbers, determining that people spread fake news because of their short attention spans and not necessarily, for example, because of foreign bots promoting particular stories...
They alerted the journal right away, and the journal deliberated for almost a year whether to issue a correction or a retraction, before finally deciding on Monday to retract the article...

Every single poll on government shutdowns always blames the GOP. They even pre-blame the GOP before a shutdown happens.

It wouldn’t surprise me. The media runs this country in some ways as they can control what people think through their reporting.

Paraphrasing Reagan ...

“It’s amazing what you can get done if you don’t care who gets the blame for it.”

Nancy Pelosi has her name already chiseled into stone as the main person to blame for the shutdown. Her and her socialist friends.
