Do that, and a new new cottage industry would be born: "Rent-a-breath."
But I would support the mandatory installation of such devices on cars after the first DUI conviction. Plus additional harsh penalties after the first DUI conviction.
Oh, and how about getting drunk illegals off the road, and out of the country?

She’s from Michigan so this is most likely a pinch bill.
Kick in to my campaign fund, Ford and GM, if you want this to go away.
To: Lazamataz
Government has been talking about this for years.
The technology is there, and it is just a matter of time before such a law is passed.
It will prop up the market for used cars.
Not sure why an automaker member of Congress would advocate such a requirement.
Unless, the automakers see that they will profit from such a law.
To: Lazamataz
Typical stupid liberal making a law that affects 300,000,000 because of the misdeeds of one.
Here’s your answer Deb. “No.”

Debbie Dingleberry. Has the brains of a canned ham. Got her seat from her husband, who was the poster boy for term limits. He’s been in congress since Hammurabi was a representative for Mesopotamia.

Beside the obvious unlawful search and seizure issues, this would destroy the new car market.

I know a guy who has one. He has to continually blow in it for the vehicle to keep driving, apparently.
I kept hearing this weird sound on the phone one day while talking. I finally asked what that was.
He went with me to a Bible rally in one city. Had a spare ticket. While exploring the arena, we saw a bar. He wanted to go in. I convinced him that was not our objective for the trip.

This is just another thing to add to the price of new vehicles.

I agree with that and I propose the following...
There should be random searches of all of their property at least once a week to detect any and confiscate any firearms. They already demonstrate questionably judgement and they might go on a shooting rampage at any time. Random searches may just save one child’s life.
Hope I don’t really need the sarcasm tag...

How about we restore the death penalty for murderers like this guy in Wisconsin who kidnapped the young girl after killing her parents? Let’s use the same argument...”If it saves a single life...”

And John Dingell “inherited” the seat from his father. A Dingell has occupied that chair for 86 years.
Way too long.
