Why? Tie vote leaves law intact.
How does RBG matter? It is Kavanaugh replacing Kennedy story suggest.
BTW,
“This instantly becomes one of the most significant cases of the year at the Supreme Court. Oral arguments should be held in late April, with a decision by the end of June.”
The wording of the law seems to forbid you from taking a gun from the place of purchase to your home.
Depends on if Hillary gave Pelosi her copies of those FBI files...
Taking the case doesn’t mean they will vote for a particular side.
The law left intact would be NY’s onerous anti-gun law.
We need justices that ARE gun owners.
The New Yorkers who ratified the Constitution in 1788 said what the Constitution meant with respect to bearing arms.
That the People have a right to keep and bear Arms; that a well regulated Militia, including the body of the People capable of bearing Arms, is the proper, natural and safe defence of a free State;
...Under these impressions and declaring that the rights aforesaid cannot be abridged or violated, and that the Explanations aforesaid are consistent with the said Constitution, And in confidence that the Amendments which shall have been proposed to the said Constitution will receive an early and mature Consideration: We the said Delegates, in the Name and in the behalf of the People of the State of New York Do by these presents Assent to and Ratify the said Constitution.
The delegates to that ratification convention who voted for that statement included John Jay and Alexander Hamilton, two of the three authors of the Federalist Papers that explained what the Constitution meant.
And the so-called Father of the Constitution, James Madison, the other author of the Federalist Papers, said the following about how to interpret the Constitution (Source: Letter to M. L. Hurlbert, May 1830):
But whatever respect may be thought due to the intention of the Convention, which prepared & proposed the Constitution, as presumptive evidence of the general understanding at the time of the language used, it must be kept in mind that the only authoritative intentions were those of the people of the States, as expressed thro' the Conventions which ratified the Constitution.
Just great. Noe RBG has a reason to live, at least till June.
And why do you want that?
They probably know more about RBG’s health than we do.
I don’t. Should’ve had the /s, sorry.
If you are going to be in the militia, you need to be smart enough to get it there in secret.
I was being facetious, that is the response I get from the people who refuse to understand what natural born citizen means because it makes their guy ineligible.
I recognized the /s at the end of your previous post. I provided something that concurs with your /s in that the ratification of the Constitution by New York had a clear gun rights statement that they said couldn't be violated. The state is currently violating that statement by restricting gun rights.
It’s stunning to realize what has happened to the cradles of the Republic, MA, NY, VA.
