Rep. Steve Pearce (R-N.M.) wants to create a "virtual Congress," where lawmakers would leverage videoconferencing and other remote work technology to conduct their daily duties in Washington from their home districts. Under a resolution Pearce introduced on Thursday, lawmakers would be able to hold hearings, debate and vote on legislation virtually from their district offices.
"Thanks to modern technology, members of Congress can debate, vote, and carry out their constitutional duties without having to leave the accountability and personal contact of their congressional districts. Keeping legislators closer to the people we represent would pull back Washington's curtain and allow constituents to see and feel, first-hand, their government at work," Pearce told The Hill in a statement.
"Corporations and government agencies use remote work technology; its time that Congress does the same," the New Mexico Republican said. He introduced the same resolution during the last congressional session. https://thehill.com/policy/technology/289947-republican-proposes-letting-lawmakers-work-from-home https://thehill.com/policy/technology/289947-republican-proposes-letting-lawmakers-work-from-home

That would be the best answer: eliminate EPA, SBA, and the federal Departments of Education, HHS, HUD, and Labor. None of those are federal responsibilities. Our kids are $20T in debt. They cannot afford this wasteful spending.
Don’t worry, the members will still line up in the middle of the night to give those speeches from the floor of Congress. For people who provide nothing, their main goal is to be seen!
Id be happy if President Trump Deleted about 75% of the government. Most is rhetorical anyway.
NO.
Annnnnnd when it’s hacked?
ya think half of them are drunk now, just think of them at home with a bottle out of sight of the camera and just a top on with no pants...
Wasnt it the original intent of our Founders that Congress only convene in the Capital occasionally? I believe they thought representatives should live among their constituents to keep them in check.
Have Congress operate through Twitter. It would be a lot more amusing.
pretty much...
