The National Treasury Employees Union on Tuesday said Internal Revenue Service (IRS) worker absences are expected to surge amid the partial government shutdown, The Washington Post reported.

Hundreds of IRS employees will likely skip work as part of a coordinated protest as the shutdown continues into its fourth week, National Treasury Employees Union President Tony Reardon and other union officials told the Post.

Personally, I'm having a hard time caring about a bunch of overpaid blood-sucking leaches taking out a short term loan in order to keep bleeding hard-working Americans ...

They might want to talk to some ex-air-traffic controllers first.

"Huge conflict of interest."

Even uber-socialist FDR said that.

Fire the partisan “Resistance”

They are the same sort of Democrats who illegally leak tax filings and outed the donors list for California's Prop 8 ballot measure (which was popularly approved in spite of homofascist opposition).

Surely government workers who don’t show up during the shut down won’t be paid for those days in their make-up pay checks. After all, the no-shows were not at work.

If you or I were working at a job, and we dragged our feet, threw obstacles in the way of completing tasks, deliberately fouled things up in a bureaucratic morass, or intentionally sabotaged things, we would be fired in a heartbeat.

These people do it, and brag publicly about being “The Resistance”.

Especially if you pulled that stunt during the annual “crunch time”.

Citizens are federally mandated to file taxes with the threat of harsh confiscatory penalties if they do not file on time.

And those reviewing your taxes have put their loyalty in with the DNC.

Obamunists.

More “Secret Police”.

I know it will never happen (it is completely a conservative fantasy) but even the remote concept of a flushing of the government toilet as a result of an obscure rule that could kick in if the shutdown exceeds a certain time limit and allow dismissal of a portion of the bloated federal workforce is food for thought.

Sure, there are conservatives working in government who are at risk for targeted dismissal given the makeup of the federal workforce, but there are far more leftists in government IMO.

It will never happen, but it would be great to see the bloated government workforce cut by a third, and having it go unnoticed by the population.

"Hundreds of IRS employees Lois Lerners will likely skip work"

This is a problem? How?

Tax receipts and refunds should be pretty much automated. Harassment, however, requires that "human touch". (No refunds here, but I'm pretty sure they cashed my estimated tax payment from last week.)
