Ocasio-Cortez invokes Bible in response to White House on climate change

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y) on Wednesday responded to White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders telling her to leave climate change up to a “much higher authority” by invoking the Bible.

While not quoting specific verses, the freshman lawmaker invoked scripture in defense of her impassioned pleas to address climate change.

“Genesis 1: God looked on the world & called it good not once, not twice, but seven times,” she tweeted. “Genesis 2: God commands all people to 'serve and protect' creation.”

"Leviticus: God mandates that not only the people, but the land that sustains them, shall be respected," she added.

“You shouldn’t need a Bible to tell you to protect our planet, but it does anyway," she wrote in a follow-up tweet.

The lawmaker appeared to be paraphrasing a Relevant magazine article from last year titled, "Stopping Climate Change Is a Part of Following Jesus." The article included adapted translations of specific biblical passages.

You shouldn’t need a Bible to tell you to protect our planet, but it does anyway.

Convieniently leaves out Genesis 8:22 ....basically says God promises that the seasons will not stop until the end of the earth (Jesus comes back).

So, how can Man fight against God? Global Climate change cannot happen because God assures us the seasons will continue.

They actually try to create and worship the Socialist State as a pseudo god and thus violated “Thou shalt have no other gods before Me.” Exodus 20. That’s why they persecute religious people who don’t place socialism or communism above God.

She gave chapters but no verses. I teach Sunday School and happen to have just finished teaching Genesis. I'm pretty familiar with much of the Scripture and see nothing about us hurting anything God has made. I did see in Roman 1 that they are without excuse that don't believe in God. He said because they wouldn't acknowledge Him as Creator, they would receive a debased or reprobate mind. They would worship the creation and NOT the Creator. They would claim to be wise but ended up foolish. The first sign of this reprobate mind homosexuality.

Now someone ask her if she follows the God of the Bible, why she supports sodomy?, Abortion? Is throwing your child in the fires of Baal equal to abortion? Are children fearfully and wonderfully made, or are they useless tissue that need to be removed. Which party supports taking prayer from school? Taking God from the culture? Banning Bibles? I could go on another 15 minutes, but she hasn't read the Bible, nor studied it, nor even believes in God or she couldn't be a Democrat. The Democrat party even voted to take "God" out of their platform.
