A lawyer (I forget her name) was on Tucker Carlson’s show lastnight and she said that Congress cannot be sued as there is some law that prevents them from this.
Ping to Covington shite continues to hit leftist fans!
I saw that. Seemed odd but Congress exempts themselves often.
It was my understanding that they only had immunity while in official capacity?
She will step in it eventually. She is a filthy arrogant racist.
She is worse than that. 😁
Reputedly Omar married her own brother in an immigration scam to get to this country.
Yep. I understand her congressional district resembles Mogadishu.
“Congress cannot be sued as there is some law that prevents them from this”.
This is why they get away without prosecution. They clearly are passing laws allowing access, protecting and supporting invaders to our country that are killing family members of American citizens they took an oath to protect. This is beyond reprehensible
_______
......... and if so, the following wasn't "official capacity"

.The boys were protesting a womans right to choose & yelled its not rape if you enjoy it, Omar tweeted Tuesday night, before deleting the tweet Wednesday morning.
She also erroneously wrote that the students were taunting 5 Black men before they surrounded Phillips and led racist chants.

Only for statements ON THE FLOOR of COngress.

Yes that rule of law applies to Representatives statements made on the floor of the house. Congress critters can still be sued for libelous statements and slander made in public venues, including social media, and not only general damages can be claimed but punitive damages can be claimed if malice motivated the statement.
Robert Barnes and the Barnes Law team who represent Covington are not light weights.
The Constitution protects it all, and Robert Barnes protects it for you. In fact, very few (if any) practicing attorneys in America have ever won precedent-setting, high-profile, life-changing cases in First Amendment law in civil cases, tax cases and criminal cases. Robert Barnes has achieved all three.
1. WESLEY SNIPES ATTORNEY THE UN-WINNABLE TAX LAW CASE
In United States vs. Wesley Snipes, Robert Barnes stunning jury-won, not-guilty felony verdicts for Wesley Snipes led the government, for the first time in 30 years, to stop even using the term tax protester as a reason to prosecute people. Yes. We have a right to free speech.
2. RALPH NADERS ATTORNEY BALLOT ACCESS SUPREME COURT CASE
In Ralph Nader vs. Brewer, Robert Barnes five-year court case went up to the U.S. Supreme Court and had more than a dozen governments trying to overturn the Robert Barnes-led victory. But the case led to a decision that experts in election law and the First Amendment agreed was groundbreaking and a severe blow to the governments attempts to prohibit people circulating petitions for the cause and candidate of their choice. The decision also strengthened access to the ballot and First Amendment rights in all election cases.
3. PRISON SUICIDE ESTATE OF MILLER V. TOBIASZ
In Estate of Miller vs. Tobiasz, Robert Barnes and the Barnes Law team achieved a full victory in the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, vindicating the rights of two young brothers. Barnes made the government pay for its indifference to a suicide in their custody of the brothers mentally ill older brother, expanding the rights in cases of inmate suicide for all.

Yes, they do. Two things come things that come to mind are inside trading on the stock market and healthcare.
Only if they say it congress
As I understand it, that protection only applies when the offending Congress-Critter is actually in the Congressional building and Congress is in session.
That is how former Speaker Dingy Harry Reid was able to slander Romney(?) about never paying taxes and not get sued. After Romney lost the election, Dingy Harry smugly admitted that the lie ‘worked’ and there was nothing anyone could do about it since the lie was uttered in a speech on the floor of Congress.
Putting a scarf on a turd works as well as lipstick on a pig.

Just wondering ...
Is deleting the same as retracting?
