When I see a person with any tattoos of Asian characters, I can't help but think: If it's a guy, he was told it means 'brave warrior', when it actually means 'sucks donkey penis'. If it's a girl, she was told it means 'love goddess', when it actually means 'yeast infection'.

Funny you should mention that. A guy where I used to work walked in one day with a new large tattoo of some asian characters on his forearm. The Vietnamese guy we worked with started snickering and asked him if he knew what it said. He said it was a Japanese word, don't remember it, and that it meant vigilante warrior. Our coworker laughed and told him it was actually Cantonese and translated to "crazy idiot".

I am a monument inscriber who does a fair amount of Orthodox Jewish work. I often have to cut templates myself or repair set work which involves drawing and cutting hebrew by hand in the field.
