The recent disclosures regarding these investigations have strengthened my position.

What recent disclosures?

Writing of this caliber is why the Star Ledger is about a half hour from going out of business.

Chris Christie will be seen as the guy relaxing on a beach he closed to the public. Another will be a big traffic jam because of a bridge he had closed.

Alan J. Steinberg is out in left field with this supposition. Trump will not be resigning in 2019. Even if Trump for some reason is not able to finish his term, Pence would be a suitable replacement. As far as Chris Christy is concerned, he can forget ever being elected President. Republican voters just do not vote that way. If he were the candidate, it would insure a democratic victory.

Objective is for Trump to spend money and time on the primaries. Making it easier for dems

“I predicted in a column published here that under pressure of various governmental investigations, Donald Trump will be compelled to resign from the presidency before the end of 2019”

I also have a prediction:

If Trump is not allowed to serve his full term as president, those of us who elected him will become a multi-million man armed militia and come to Washington to take out the trash.

It is better to die free than to live under tyranny. Aspiring tyrants better beware. Anyone who supports an unjust, dishonest impeachment will be signing their own death warrant.

Trump will be the President until 2027. The supreme court will rule that he gets 2 extra years for the spygate and the Special Prosecutor abuse and lying.

Good point. There are a lot of reasons this is so, but just one is that capitalism doesn’t work without trust and where there is no goodness there is no trust.

Chris Christie has a much better chance of making commercials for Nutrisystem than winning nomination.

The author of the article thinks trump will resign this year in 2019

On New Year’s Day this year, I predicted in a column published here that under pressure of various governmental investigations, Donald Trump will be compelled to resign from the presidency before the end of 2019. The recent disclosures regarding these investigations have strengthened my position.

Upon Trump’s resignation from the presidency, Vice President Mike Pence will become the president. Pence, however, will be a very poor reelection prospect in 2020.

Christie is too close to Whitman, Kean, Frelinghuysen, lance and other RINO's. He will never win.

This article is so full of deluded hypotheticals that there isn't any need to worry about Christie "winning" anything. Trump isn't going to resign and Christie won't be challenging him (or Pence) in 2020.

While we're on the subject, I never understood why Christie and Giuliani, two liberal Republicans well to the Left of Mitt Romney or John McCain, have a small but dedicated fanbase around here. They deserve half a clap for being better than the Democrat alternatives in NJ and NYC (as Romney was in MA), but that isn't saying much.

Forget that Cristie Cream is “close with RINOs”

BRIDGEGATE, he left office less popular than dog poop, he’s not viable, period.
