Gov. Andrew Cuomo told reporters that New York did not have hurricanes in the past. Cuomo also said Buffalo did not get 7 feet of snow, saying such events were part of a new reality. However, Cuomo is absolutely incorrect on both those counts.
New York Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo made a series of gaffes during a press conference Wednesday and claimed a new reality is bringing about weather the state has never before experienced, including hurricanes and massive snowfall.
Thats false. Cuomos claims that New York never experienced massive storms and snowfall before this new reality referring to global warming contradict historical data that are readily available to the public, even governors.
We are getting more and more storms with a higher level of frequency. That is not a political statement. That is a fact, Cuomo said at a press conference Wednesday to discuss the states response to severe winter weather.
We did not have hurricanes in the state of New York, Cuomo said. We did not have superstorms in the state of New York.

Cuomo is either lying or he just doesn’t know very much about the state of New York. I give him the benefit of the doubt. I don’t think he’s lying. I just think he’s an ignorant fool. Like most DemocRats.
And whats amusing about the attempt to attribute Sandy to global warming was that the waters it spawned in were not exceptionally warm ; and the reason it was so huge and strong was that it collided with a cold front.
How about the Long Island Express (the 1938 hurricane), Governor Moron? No hurricanes...really? Are you stupid or an idiot?
84 tropical or subtropical cyclones have affected the state of New York since the 17th century
Of course, my memory could be playing tricks but I don’t think we were hurt at all during Donna but I clearly remember the rain. Sterno! My sisters-in-law, like all good Italian-Americans, have Sterno and chaffing dishes for all occasions - including hurricanes, no doubt.
Sterno works well to keep already cooked food hot; however, cooking on it, imparted a "sterno" taste to the soup. :-(
LOL...I had forgotten all about Sterno & chaffing dishes; those of Italian heritage aren't the only ones who had those, back in the '50s! :-)
Cuomo, ask Kate Hepburn if the 1938 happened...her autobiography talked about the hurricane and the damage done to her parents Fenwick Point summer cottage (in Old Saybrook,CT). You are a moron.
Shouldn’t that page be blank, since it never happened according to Governor Idiot...?
Hurricane Agnes first storm of the season 1972......Elmira was all but destroyed...many deaths and never really recovered....Hey Cuomo you f****ing d**k....look it up.
Coumo isn’t “mistaken” or “wrong” he’s stupid, lying or crazy.
Buffalo had over seven feet of snow in the 1970s ...the construction company I worked for in Schenectady sent a front end loader ther to help clear the snow cars and all....it was lake effect snow ...very cold air going over the lake which was not frozen..left for Colorado in 1980
Done forgot THE GREAT BLIZZARD of 1888. And many others.
***Hurricane Sandy***
Barely a tropical storm when it turned inland at one of the highest tides, in one of the most populated spots in the US. Also was followed by Two massive snow storm fronts coming down from the North.
So they blamed... glo-bull warming.
Where was he in ‘54 when Hazel hit? I was coming up on 2 and my folks say she sent an oak limb through my bedroom window - in Rochester, NY, over 400 miles inland from NYC...she went across Lake Ontario and did a number on Toronto too.
Hazel went from Jamaica to Canada and did a lot of damage through NY....
Had to go out and tweet the idiot:
Tweets
@NYGovCuomo: No super storms or hurricanes in NY????
Hazel was such a storm and 1954 was way before all this global warming/climate ploy to subjugate peoples to “benevolent” governments took root...did you get an Ocasio education?
So, I’m guessing my Dad and Grand-dad did NOT have an ice business in Athen NY where they would cut YUGE ice chunks out of the Hudson river back in the late 1920’s early 1930’s then?
