No Judges Confirmed This Week

Posted on 02/02/2019 2:45:44 AM PST by cotton1706

This will be a weekly post.

Count remains at 85 judges confirmed.

53 District Court judges

30 Circuit Court judges

2 Supreme Court justices

The Senate Judiciary Committee can't move to judges until it gets through the Attorney General nomination. Vote was supposed to be this week but democrats delayed the vote for a week (this is a routine delay tactic, both democrats and republicans alike use it).

So Barr's committee vote will be next week and then the committee will be free to move to judges.

Also, Trump renominated three California conservatives to the federal bench this week, two to the 9th circuit.

No they don't. Republicans didn't delay every vote as the DemocRATS do now and the American people know it.

They can’t handle the Attorney General hearings and also hold hearings on some judges. Then just pass the judges without hearings then. Or better yet just adjourn the senate for three days and let all nominees be recess apointed until they can be confirmed later.

I agree. Advise and consent is not what it used to be. Now it is too political. Long ago probably 99% of the President’s picks sailed through with little discussion.

Buncha lazy ass do shits. They should be paid minimum wage. Douchebags.

The whole friggen federal government should be paid 5.72 cents an hour. It should be an entry level job to train you until you can get a job in the real world.

They always seem to find a reason for delay. Meanwhile there are 148 VACANT federal judgeships with 21 additional announced to be vacant later this year.

With these 169 judgeships to be filled, the Senate POKES ALONG. 4% of THIS Congress’ 2-year term has already slipped away with INACTION BEING THEIR MAIN “ACTION”.

Tick, Tock....Tick Tock.

Everyone should do as I do and tweet McConnell each week, he said he would change the 30 hour rule to speed up approvals.

And CC Trump you Tweet to McConnell.

There are now more vacancies on the court than even.

Trump should declare an emergency on the court since for sure the 3 new conservatives for the 9th circuit could possibly help provide some semblance of balance there and maybe the 9th circuit would not gum up every executive order with a challenge that is eventually overturned.

Judges should get a pay cut for being overturned.

McConnell needs to get things moving. Once Paul Matey is confirmed the 3rd circuit will flip. We need the help with Murphy’s anti gun legislation being challenged.

Where’s linda? What is she doing besides politicking and giving ‘advice’ to President Trump which he ignores?

Let’s remember, we would have had several of these judges seated if not for the temper tantrum/useless virtue signaling of the RINO Jeff Flake.

By chance, do you have any idea how many across-the-board vacancies remain? I have been unable to find anything online about the specific number.

Good news that 44 made it out of committee this week
