If Elon Musk didn't do adequate cold-weather testing of his cherished, hyped, ego-trip project...

...then what else hasn't he adequately tested? What problems lurk under the covers in the future for Tesla owners?

The best way to thaw the door handles on a Tesla is to pee on them.

Harder for a girl.

Maybe if they stood on a box.

Their efforts to prevent global warming by driving electric cars are starting to pay off!

I guess the designers actually believed their own global warming crap.

Elon Musk is not a Car Guy or Manufacturing guy. I’ve yet to see any Tesla that has body panels fit as well as a Chevy Cruz.

Electric cars are ego toys. Fine for those who want them. It’s their money, as long as the cars are not subsidized by the government. But the rest of us must live in the real world.

Tesla is based in southern California, where it rarely gets cold.

Oh PLEASE - what car operates PERFECTLY in cold weather. OBVIOUSLY if these people wanted a reliable car, they would not have bought a Tesla.

Dear Ronak Patel.

Just hook up the on board wind mill solar panel array and you should be just fine.
Regards
Elon

“Andrea Falcone, a software engineer in Boston, tweeted a picture of her frozen handle”

We’ve all had to deal with door handles that were less-than-thawed. The REAL QUESTION is why is this woman attacking Tesla over a problem that all cars have? Is she, perhaps, trying to cash-in?

Less than two months earlier, she had purchased the Model 3 and posted a smiley emoji and a picture of herself posing with the new car.

Look, peasants, at how smart and everything I am. Clearly better than you!

Teslas in Ill-Annoy have had to get a different kind of transponder for the tollways. The stock iPass does not do well on the dash/windshield, and a differnt kind is mounted in the grille.

I think the BOTTOM LINE is that some people are simply not comfortable with ‘technology’ - and is that really Tesla’s fault?

Ah, the polar vortex that hit the upper Midwest was so cold that even conventional cars with block heaters would have trouble starting. That's how cold it was.

Extreme cold wreaks havoc on just about
everything. Door handles on conventional
vehicles freeze up. Water in fuel lines,
increased viscosity in engine oils,
weak or inadequate anti-freeze in engine
blocks, wipers freeze to windshields.
Cold is cold. Preventative maintenance
goes a long way in helping to alleviate
cold weather problems. Electric vehicles
have come a long way, but have a long
way to go before this gear head would
consider buying one. I would never buy
one under the pretense of doing my part
to save the planet.

‘Mini Ice Age’ Looms As NASA Scientist Warns Lack Of Sunspots Could Bring Record Cold. Our sun was not expected to head into a solar minimum until around 2020, but it appears to be heading in that direction a little early which could prove to be bad news for warm weather lovers.

Could last 11 years. Likely will.

I don’t see a good projection ahead for the Tesla cars if they don’t figure out something.
