Cindy McCain is apologizing after recently reporting suspected human trafficking at the Phoenix airport because she saw a woman and child together who were not the same race — but her fears turned out to be unfounded.
Police investigated and said there was “no evidence” of wrongdoing, according to local news.
Initially, the widow of Sen. John McCain told Arizona radio station KTAR on Monday: “I came in from a trip I’d been on and I spotted — it looked odd — it was a woman of a different ethnicity than the child, this little toddler she had, and something didn’t click with me.”

It’s understandable. Cindy used to regularly see a guy she thought was a conservative. But that was debunked, too.
Maybe she stole a few more prescription drug pads from a doctor and was flying OxyAir inside the airport.
You can see something and say something, but don’t make up stories for the radio like, “and, by God, she was trafficking that kid … She was waiting for the guy who bought the child to get off an airplane.” She didn’t know that.

BUT I don’t think she needed to tweet about it or whatever, before it was actually resolved. To me, it looked like she was putting herself out as a hero in the incident, which might have been premature, considering the outcome.
I agree with you that she wasn’t wrong to express her concerns to LEO, though.
I suspect she saw herself 25 years ago walking around in the airport with her adopted daughter from Bangladesh that she may or may not of purchased from an orphanage when she accompanied her husband John McCain to Bangladesh on a senate junket. so not knowing what the story was about her own adoption of a child she reported on herself 25 years later.
