Yes i too have a friend who was born with spina bifida. His growth was stunted and walks with a pronounced limp...but lives a perfectly normal life. On a side note...he is also a card carrying member of the mohawk tribe...unlike one Elizabeth Warren.
Bottom line: She KILLED her BABY. Stop the BS and call this what it is, Murder.
It was suggested we abort my son twice for predicted medical complications including he would suffer brain damage. Thirty seven years later he is a perfectly well adjusted and productive member of society. In fact, I can’t think of anything in his life that supports what the doctors told us.
See my list about tebow.
Too bad for her daughter this woman didn’t do just a little research.
Docs now perform fetal spina bifida surgery. I wonder if I can get this info to her.

She’s a murderer.
In America the talking point is “ever’ chil’e a wanted chil’e”.
There are mothers carrying twins or triplets who abort a sibling simply because she only wanted one. No health risk.
Elective abortion is a sacred thing to the Left.
“rare” was just a lie.
I believe the intent of this article is to flaunt the fact that she can kill another human being because she would be unhappy it would be born and that she can get away scott free from a murder charge.
More weaponized victimhood.

Who wants to listen to the story of this child murderer?
Definitely - and the scare tactics of putting some true-life sad stories out there of less-than-perfect children is used to keep it available for all - for any reason. While people were rightfully disgusted by NYC’s recent infanticide law, the fact is that abortion is legal up to birth if the mother just says she is “depressed” - it falls under the “health of the mother” loophole.
While raising a disabled child must be daunting and incredibly trying, adoption is also an option that many avoid because it doesn’t provide the closure that a dead baby does.
I don’t believe the left will ever embrace “gender-selective abortion” - and I can imagine the hoops they’d have to jump through to try to restrict it.
And like this woman claims, we were devastated when we were told there was an extreme likely hood our child would not be healthy. We never even considered abortion, and my wife was so angry when the first doctor suggested it, she changed doctors. I guess my son is very lucky we did not decide to play god.
I cared for a mildly mentally retarded aunt till her death at aged 90 two years ago
I understand completely
Culling is for the uncivilized or the evil culture
You murdered your child, lady.
No amount of rationalizing and justifying will change that.
Less than a year after losing our first baby to hypoplastic left heart syndrome, my wife became pregnant with twins. 1/2 way through the pregnancy we were told our son (boy/girl twins) had a heart defect and we needed to selectively abort him. He’s an officer in the Navy now.
Wow. If the lady who aborted her baby ever sees this, especially the subsequent video about little Audrey, she’ll be devastated, especially if she was not told that there was a surgical treatment available, that could have given her baby a normal life. Since the article doesn’t mention it, I assume she wasn’t informed. If THAT’S true, then her obstetrician bears an enormous amount of guilt. Only they and God know which is the case, but If it were I who had had the abortion, and I hadn’t been informed about the prenatal surgery available, not only would I be devastated, I would be angry beyond measure.
“The next morning we found ourselves in a very crowded clinic in Fort Lauderdale. We paid extra for a private waiting room, and we were quickly ushered into it so the worst experience of my life wouldnt be on display.”
So there you have it. It’s a money-making enterprise.
The slippery slope is real... and often steep.
“I believe she’s telling the truth. I also believe that by far she’s the extreme exception.”
And I got a feeling that the vast majority of couples in the same situation might have made the same decision, even many that profess to be anti-abortion.
But this extreme exception does not at all justify the killing of babies in the womb for any reason whatsoever, which is what huffpost and the leftists are promoting.
So the question comes down to how does society decide on these extreme exceptions and where does it draw the line.
A born child or any person can become seriously handicapped after birth, and we don’t use that as a reason to dispatch them. Why does it seem more palatable to do it before they’re born. Would this same couple want to kill their born child if it became seriously handicapped? Our society currently would punish them if they did that. Is it a case of out of sight out of mind? An unborn child doesn’t have the visibility and the care and affection of the number of people that a born child would have.
Just unorganized thoughts running through my head. The solution is currently above my pay scale.
Good observations ... You're asking the right questions... and you're seeing the situation clearly.
