If not now, it will never be built.

Cluster-blank of the highest order.

He should sign it. $1.375b this year. And then $1.375b next year, and the years after that. It’ll add up to over $5 billion ...

>>For what possible reason would the Democrats want to reduce jail space for illegals? That is bizarre. It looks like an arbitrary demand.

Because, if there’s no space, the illegals get released into the U.S. with only a pinky swear that they’ll show up for their hearing.

The wall will cost more than 5 billion. 5 billion WAS the “first bite of the elephant” as the poster above you said. If we get 1.5 billion every year for the next six years, the wall will be far from complete by the time Trump leaves office. And I would not bet on whatever squish Republican running after him will win given that the rats will have had another five years of illegal immigrants flooding the country to vote D.

No, we need 5 billion now, and 5 more next year, and 5 more the year after, etc. 25 billion needed, per this source: https://www.foxnews.com/opinion/trumps-border-wall-how-much-it-will-actually-cost-according-to-a-statistician

No ‘Deal’ has been struck. President Trump is the one that has to agree to it, not the shmucks that came up with it. VETO and build the wall anyway....

Sorry my American friends, but if President Trump signs this it is a total CAVE. You don’t start a fight you don’t intend to win. His success has been because he’s been steadfast. Handing Pelosi/Schumer a total victory at the expense of National Security will be his downfall, and the downfall of America. President Trump is America’s last best hope. If he gives up the fight, the electoral demographics will make it impossible for a conservative Presidential candidate to ever again be elected, no matter far the Dems swing to the lunatic left. This is Valley Forge, Gettysburg, Battle of the Bulge, Iwo Jima and the TET offensive rolled into one. The stakes could not be any higher.

I think signing this turd sandwich weakens his hand at a national emergency. Roberts and the four libs SCOTUS will likely tell him just to go back to Congress like he did the first time.

I sent out tweets this week end to Donald trump, Ted Cruz and to the Texas republican party suggesting that a way around the demacrat obstructing the funding was for Texas to build it. nice to hear someone voice this besides me.

The short finance guy in Congress, can’t remember his name, said this morning to just sign it and then do what you want on the wall.

IOW, keep the government open, and go ahead on president’s own power to fund the wall.

If President Trump has some avenue to get the rest of the money without some dirtbag liberal Judge tying him up in Court for a decade (since when did we elect any of THEM to be in charge of our national security?) ... go for it.

For PR reasons, I wouldn’t like the see the Government shut down again.

Maybe we should just sit and wait and trust our guy to do the right thing.

Trump may be made to sign onto this bill for some quid pro quo. I don’t like it, but he’s one man and he has to work with the fecal Congress that we gave him.

Having said that, he’s obviously building the wall using whatever means are possible. Declaring a state of emergency is one way; he’s also putting the military on the border AND building the wall in other ways as well.

We have to make sure that we take every step in the right direction possible.

I agree about letting the Trump team navigate the legal obstacles.

My understanding after listening to his staff the last few days is that there is money reprogramming he can do without having to declare a national emergency. That would deny a liberal judge the opportunity to enact an injunction. My understanding is that it would take place in-house at the white house.

They didn't "blink" at all .... it's $700 million LESS than was agreed to just a few months ago and FAR short of the $25+ billion that the likes of Chuckie Schumer agreed to back in (what was it .. ) 2010?

This is bullshit.

Shut the whole damn' Government down and leave it down until the wall is FULLY funded.

Pelosi and the Democrats win if PDJT signs this.

Then, use alternative means to get more money outside Congress.

Which will QUICKLY get tied up in court as soon as PDJT declares a national emergency or tries using money from other "buckets" in the budget.

You have to know that Pelosi and Schumer have someone camped outside the Ninth Circus Court of Appeals just waiting to file the lawsuit once PDJT declares a national emergency or tries using money from other buckets.

This has been the Democrats strategy all along and the Republicans fell for it AGAIN. They never learn. This is why I've called them the STUPID Party for decades already.

Guaranteed it will have restrictions on what kind and where barriers can be built tying the President’s hands.

You're exactly right. There's a reason the Democrats use the word "barrier" and not WALL. It's so they can nit-pick and file endless lawsuits to stop ANYTHING from happening.

Reject the bill Mr. President and shut the damn' Government down. It's virtually useless anyway right now.

And ship all the "immigrants" to San Francisco!!

Makes me wonder why Trump asked for 5.7b if he wanted/needed 5.7b.

Normally a savvy negotiator will highball in anticipation of a counter offer.

The Art of the Deal?

doo dah is right.

What a COS. At least they blinked. So now they have approved some wall money and agree to the wall / barrier. Pretty much just like before. They agreed so long as it would never materialize. The usual lip service of traitors.

What I would like to do if it were me is take their bill, carry it to the rose garden, nail it to the ground and just ____ on it.

Even in the spring the screwl playgrounds are brown.

Yeah, Texas needs a break. Let ‘em overrun NM and let their own kind take care of them. The border barrier needs to shift north in NM. They all deserve each other.
